When will WE GET NPC Technology

I can understand mission NPC's having technology equal to player tech.. but this is ridiculous.. I was doing a mission called the blockade..

I was being jammed by 3 FRIGATE CLASS SHIPS, the CLOSEST ONE was 270km from my ship. When do WE get that tech. I can realize that the devs want to keep PVE interesting and challenging but whoever thought that giving NPC's that big an advantage was a good idea, is not very bright.

I would help but you are ranting like a child or possibly trolling.

I agree, NPC EWAR has always been vastly overpowered in this game.

CCP definitely needs to re-balance NPC's and bring their EWAR stats more inline with capsuleer stats.

that could be part of the pve-fits = pvp-fits initiative

it's been ages since ive seen anything mentioned about it .. last sighting was maybe 2-3 years ago :)

but it's definitely something the devs are (or have been) thinking about

I don't think we will ever have a 270km jammer Lol

Are we are talking about the 'Serpentis" L4 variant of Blockade?
Annoying mission for anything other than drones-boats and F.O.F wielding ships.

Make sure you know all the spawn triggers, primary the damps the moment they appear, with sensor boosters and signal amps fitted fly towards them, when you can target them, 'lay the smack down'.

iirc there is only a single damp wave.

All this to complain about a bug that you should just be bug reporting.

I had a somewhat similar case about a year ago. I warped into the Pirate Invasion deadspace and found all the rats at 300 km. The webbers were webbing and the screamers were scramming. I put my Golem into Bastion, but I couldn't hit anything that was 300 km away. And when I deactivated Bastion to warp out, I was immediately scrammed again. Result: dead golem.

I opened a support ticket, asking CCP what tactics they suggested when the NPCs were that far out of range. Their answer was that they had looked at the battle and had seen nothing unusual!

I responded that if the Eve software was so inept that it couldn't detect when the NPCs were violating the game's own internal physics, then probably Eve was not the game for me.

They got back to me with an explanation that it probably was a glitch in my client software that improperly registered distance and then acted on that data. That seemed a likely answer, so I've continued to play … without experiencing another episode.

My guess is that a similar glitch hit your client at that moment.

In an all-time shocker, CCP returned my golem.

Don't panic now … there'll be plenty of time to do that later.

torps used to go 120km or so. mine went like 90km and that was with crap skills.

ah well, NPCs take shortcuts to lessen impact on server performance. once you get to a certain point you realize even though NPCs may cheat in some cases they have almost no actual chance vs players that want them dead. ah well, not really worth thinking about too much. I mean maybe some day...

Sounds more like he made a poor fitting choice and tried to fly out of damp range.

I believe that's due to client disconnects. afaik, rats still follow the 250k lock range rule. And have ewar limits, based on data dumps.
