So, i've been having this problem for a couple of months now, and its finally got on my nerves enough to try and do something about it.
When I open the launcher, it lets me log in, it lets me click on the settings and the dev blog stuff on the right side, but it will not patch the game or allow me to play it, i have to patch the game via the repair tool and play the game directly via the .exe, which is a pain with im multiboxing.

heres a screen cap of what happens:

Any ideas why this is happening?

That's what I get when I cannot connect to Eve Online's game server (different from website) due to an issue on the network route there (it's the last connection prior to Eve's servers for me). Basically, the launcher isn't programmed to handle some errors gracefully...it just sits there and never handles/recognizes "the host destination is unreachable" event.

For me, the core of the problem seems to be routing (USA) which goes through Texas before (attempting to) hopping the pond.

Hi there,

In some cases, connecting through a proxy server can cause this behavior. In order to rule that out, please check the following:

* open the "Internet Options" from the Windows Control Panel
* go to the "Connections" tab and click on the "LAN Settings" button
* make sure that only "Automatically detect settings" is checked and all other entry fields are empty.

Done, and its not on a proxy, and the problem is still there.

How do you play the game "directly via the .exe?" If I launch eve.exe I get the same broken launcher I get with eve online launcher.
