Unable to connect to server

Ok, so I'm unable to connect to the server. I thought that maybe it was an issue with the client, but after this last patch I'm still having an issue. Ran a tracert to the server IP, found that 10 hops in I'm hitting some kind of roadblock:

7 221 ms 161 ms * xe-8-1-3.edge4.Frankfurt1.Level3.net [212.162.25.89]
8 170 ms 176 ms 177 ms ae-120-3506.edge4.London1.Level3.net [4.69.166.5]
9 176 ms 170 ms 170 ms ae-120-3506.edge4.London1.Level3.net [4.69.166.5]
10 195.50.122.214 reports: Destination net unreachable.

Just wondering if i'm the only one getting this problem, or if there's others having the same issue?

Start by doing a trace route. On Windows hit the Start button, type "cmd" (without the quotes), then in the command prompt window that opens type "tracert 87.237.38.200" and hit Enter. Once the tracert is completed right click in the window, select "Mark" and highlight the last 3 or 4 jumps, making sure to highlight any errors reported (you don't want to highlight the whole thing unless you want to give everyone your IP address). Once you've got everything highlighted, press enter to copy it then paste it back here. I'm curious to see if my issue is a one off or if that Level3 router is having some issues.

So just out of curiosity I decided to run tracert to the forums just to try and see if I can get a complete path to the server, and, well see for yourself...

Tracing route to forums.eveonline.com [87.237.39.162]

Trace complete.

That one jump seems like it just doesn't like this game, and yet here I am posting on the forum. Maybe I'm missing something here...

I'm also unable to connect.

The launcher reports that the server is offline? I was playing earlier (from a different connection), so I'm pretty sure its not the client install.

Just remain calm...it is likely just an issue with the login server as the game/forums are still functioning. Im sure that CCP is well aware of the issue and is working with haste to rectify the problem.

Forum access is also intermittent for me. Access to game works from exe in bin folder though "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe"

And as a note that..well it's probably not useful, but the destination unreachable from level3 indicates a routing issue.

204.245.39.38 also does not appear to be a CCP IP, so this more than likely is upstream of CCP (one of their DC's provider's having issues).

Probably best to go do something else for a while - it's likely affecting enough level3 customers that it's being worked already, but you never know how long it could be depending on the issue.

Confirmed; From exefile works

I find it odd that you guys can get it to work from the EXE file, I've gone through both the launcher and the EXE file and get the same result. But hey, at least the launcher will patch (and resumed that massive Tiamat patch when it stalled out at 0.97GB, so at least that works - big improvement over my patching experience this time last year).

What's really weird for me is that the launcher can see the server status and number of pilots online, but the client doesn't see that info. I get the same thing trying to connect to Singularity as well - http://ibin.co/1sMK5arYUbF7

Oh well, at least I set some massive training queues before I ended up getting disconnected from the game for 5 months...
