Is if you select a stargate, and hit D, that you actually warped to it and then JUMPED!

I mean don't get me wrong I love pressing the D key as much as the next guy, but I mean after about 10-15 minutes when I have the gate selected 500m from me and I have been hitting D the whole time it would be nice if I jumped. I do love looking at the pretty background and all, but I really do wanna jump.

Just saying.

Wait, I fixed it. I right clicked the gate and selected jump.

You can also click on the gate so it's selected and then click the "Jump" button. I hate right click context menus.

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.

I was being sarcastic. When I select a gate and hit D I should jump when I get to the gate. I did that and when I reached the gate I didn't jump so to amuse myself I hit D like 5000 times and I never did jump.

So dear eve programmers......


if distance from gate less than or equal to 2000m and D is pressed THEN jump.

Or better yet....

if D pressed warp to selected gate THEN jump.




I know programming is hard but yeah.

but.....

it already does this and I use it on a regular basis...

*system loads*
*click overview*
*D*
*spins ship to look at the pretty nebulae*
*exits warp*
*tries hitting jump out of habit*
"Session change is already in progress"
"lawl, I did it again..."

Hell even if I don't use the D key and i use the jump button on the selected items window it does the same thing.

And if I happen to be sitting 15km off a gate that i just came through and wanna go back the other way the D still works as I just slowboat and jump as if on autopilot.

Conclusion: you're doing it wrong...

I think for those hotkeys to work, the overview window has to have focus. If you click on the gate itself in space, then hit D, I don't think it will work. You have to select the gate from the overview, not click on anything else, and hit D.

Those hotkeys are quirky enough that I don't use them.

I think if you don't have anything selected, you can hold down D and then click the gate (and is D def. your shortcut for jump?)
(I always just use the buttons in the selected item window)

Can we get a shortcut for entering a wormhole?

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.
