CCP Abraxas and friends have been very busy making sure you have good access to all the official EVE Fiction in one place. Read all about it in this brand new blog, and leave your feedback right here.

You're right, that was a longass blog. I've read it tho, and it's nice to see some blogs with content and less trying-to-be-funny-to-cover-from-content. This one had some effort put in.

This is great and I like many of the improvements made to evelopedia in general when it finally got out of the beta stage. This has made going through the fiction much more structured and a better experience in general.

That said the biggest problem with EVE fiction is that often it doesn't exist in the game in any other form than flavor text. Simple things like what is the serpentis organisation or what is a sansha exactly are only hinted at and not even that if you haven't played the special content that contains the flavor text. I've killed thousands of them, but without reading out of game sources I would have no idea what they were like or about. Their thinking, appearance, culture or goals in most cases don't come across at all in the actual game. That's why they have little character and are often reduced in the players mind to just red crosses with different loot drops and damage/tank profiles.

I know it's not an easy job, since EVE only offers spaceship content, but you've got to do something to improve the situation or the fiction will never really exist for most players and they can't get immersed in it. Sansha incursions are actually a good improvement on that issue, since it gave them some character, that separated them from the rest of the grey mass. I'd like to see you give similar treatment to other factions as time goes on. I don't mean give them incursions in the same sense as sansha have, but rather look in to having the factions actively doing something visible in space, that reflects their nature, culture and furthers their goals. Anything to give them a little character and makes them something besides the generic NPCs that they now are.

A wall of text introducing over 9000 walls of text! *

Cool stuff and a lot of work I'm sure. I read the whole blog, though the entire wikipedia may take a while... :)

Oh, and I look forward to the upcoming Guristas expansion! **

How exactly do we report errors for fixing on locked pages. However its done, it's not obvious.

And yeah, sorry, I found a little mistake already. P

Two ways. The one I'd really prefer people use is to click the Discussion tab on the respective article, and enter it there. I have an automated watch on all those pages.

(Except, ahaha, most of you can't do that at the moment because the logon for the wiki just broke and keeps tossing up an SSL error. We'll fix that.)

The other way is to post about it on the Fiction forum over here. I check them from time to time.

I think this is a great step towards bridging the gap between the Eve Fiction/Lore and actual in-game content. The new interface and design flow will allow for easy browsing around the Fiction Portal.
In my opinion, effectively connecting your in-game content to the backstory and lore that drives it requires three different factors:

- In-game 'stuff' that peaks the players interest in the backstory.
- The means by which the player can easily access the related backstory
- A source database of information that will further enthrall and captivate the player in the EVE Universe

I think that the changes here definitely will aid in the final point, making it easier for players to find relevant backstory/Fiction/Lore and then being able to 'get lost', in a good sense, in all the great information/stories there are to be found.

I agree with Destination SkillQueue that Incursions definitely helped bring the Sansha out of the grey mass and get pilots to find out more about them, I'm curious to see if there will be similar efforts to make more 'stuff' to peak players interests.

I'm also eager to see the means by which you connect in-game content to the Fiction Portal because I feel that is the biggest gap at the moment. It definitely kills immersion now to try to investigate the Lore behind ingame NPC corps/characters/factions, and I think changes to the way the two connect will be the key to truly getting players hooked on EVE's Lore. All in all good stuff with changes here, thanks for all the hard-work put into this and looking forward to even more.

Only problem is the Evelopedia is butt ugly tbh. Was way easier to read before the switch...

Wow, awesome present! I've been wondering how this project was coming along. So much work has been done by the Dev's and volunteer's involved and for that I thank you! I could spend days on end in this portal and I'm very much looking forward to see how it progresses. I'll provide some feedback where necessary once I've spent more time with it. Kudos!

This is fairly nice. Earlier today I started reading about the history of Ni-Kunni and damn, I forgot how much potential eve lore. I read the first book some time ago and I loved it and this is awesome. Defiantly going to poke around there some more. Very nice.

Just one thing, that design makes me want to take a knife and rip my eyes out. The eye-strain is something I've never seen before, it's like you've (probably not you, rather the web-team) tried to make something that hurt the eyes as much as possible. Might be fixable with some stylish scripts but it takes a lot out of it :(
