Greetings!

I have been playing EVE on and off for quite some time, always coming back after long breaks.
I'm staying this time and I've never been in a player run corp, so I'm hoping to get in to some sort of pvp corp, eventually.

Anyway, my time playing EVE has been spent mostly with running missions and I have managed to get some pretty awful standings with doing that.
The Gallente especially hate my guts with a standing of -7.13.

Now, I've read about regaining faction standing, training the diplomacy skill and doing missions for groups liked by these factions, but I've not read anything about repairing something as low as this. I have also read that the diplomacy skill does not increase negative standings, only 0 and above.

I'm considering starting anew, building a specialized character, partially due to but not completely because of this.
There are my skills too, which over the years I've trained pretty random, often changing my mind and going from one goal to another.
Then there is my character name which I don't really like and the age of this character, which kinda contradicts me claiming to be a newb, possibly making it harder for me to find a new(-ish) player friendly corp.

So, is it worth it throwing away 4.8 mil of (relatively) randomly trained skillpoints because of crappy standings on this old character?

Or should I stick with this one and kiss Gallente ass untill they like me again? I'm not planning on doing any missions for them when they do, but it would be nice to be able to fly through their space without being shot at.

I have made a decent amount of money in my time playing so the new character would be set financially for a pretty long time, if that matters.

Really not sure what to do so any advice would be appreciated muchly!

Also, excuse my english, it's not my first language.

You are wrong about Diplomacy - it specifically affects only negative standings. So training it to level 5 would be good start.

Much more information about fixing bad standings:
Faction Standing Repair Plan

EDIT: I just checked your skills and it seems you don't have any Diplomacy trained. So you only need to train Diplomacy to level 4 and then you will have effective Gallente standing above -5 and you can fly safely in their space.

Wow, I had it completely wrong then.

This changes things, thank you very much!

I'll be sure to do better research next time Smile

Don't throw away characters because you've got standings problems with them. Even in the worst case scenario it won't take that long to get them to a level where you won't be shot on sight. Furthermore it seems you have no social skills trained, so by training the diplomacy skill to lvl4 you should be able to fix the problem entirely without any grinding.
