Planetary Interaction Ideas

1, if an industry facility is set up to process goods I would like to press CTRL and be able to copy the program and routes to other industry facilities
2, the 3-D rendering over structures when you click on them is not needed , and gets in the way in
3, resizing the window that pops up when you click on structures , why is this a static and small size ?
4, when I leave a planets view , I would like a little exclamation point to come up over products not routed , and a message that asks if you want to leave planet with products not routed
5, same as 1, except from storage facilities when a product is routed from a storage facility , I would like to press CTRL and copy that route to other industry facilities
6, extractor facilities should have pre-programmed shapes to place on planet , like scanner probes , but instead automatic shapes like a square or parrelelogram or even triangle , and allow it to program a degree of overlap ,


I have more ideas , but these are the 1's that could make PI more user friendly

I have an idea there are quite a few PI improvement threads and a lot of them get buried and ideas repeated so if you really want to help the devs find ideas that they can use and get healthy discussion try using a thread already open rather than reposting

All I really need to fulfill my PI experience is to select multiple buildings at once.
Select 7 factories, make them all make Precious Metals and route that to the storage. I would be so much happier.

The real problem is that there seems to be no focus on PI. Even with the "industrial" pass... nothing for PI. Quite disappointing. I have been doing it since it began and surprisingly, nothing is broken, everything is "working as intended", but... there is SO MUCH room for improvement.

2. i actually want MOAR 3d rendering. i want a model that flies a long my links. Its size (from smallish indy ship to flying freighters) depending on how much m3 is being moved between links.

if we could copy setups, and make routing easier... those 2 things alone would get me doing PI more often.

so how do we bring this thing up to a level where a developer would even see it ? PI seems to need some of its rough edges buffed off but cant seem to find a post a developer is even watching

Good chance dev's seen it. CSM or ISD may even point it out to them. ideas may go on a post-it note and put on a board.

the problem is every idea gets more obscure the more people post without searching for and adding to an existing thread. People are just going to stop reading when they see 'PI idea 146' that contains the same old crap. And they are going to eventually miss the thread that has a little something new in it because of that.

This is exactly why all are encouraged to not post anything without making an effort to search for an existing thread. Makes it so much easier for people to follow and cuts out all the repetition that is so mind numbing.

Love all of it. yet
lets not make it tempting for pilots to bot
cause the echo of that causality
is just painful

So
if anything i would love it IF
CCP would at some point stop testing pilots if they are bots
(all to obvious interrupts in any given drone-able player actions)
ohh say maybe after the 400TH **** ING TIME they interupt me!

There don't appear to be any other unlocked PI idea threads so here are my contributions to make PI less clicky and more in keeping with the rest of the game mechanics:

1. have installation templates similar to ship fittings so that you don't have to design everything from scratch
2. be able to build everything to see if it all works/fits before having to press submit
3. be able to move all structures via drag and drop without having to decommission and rebuild them. Cost to do so should be based on current costs to rebuild but could also be dependent on distance moved.
4. add a function/button to re-install all extraction programs
5. add the ability to create, save and deploy extractor head patterns from templates
6. give us the ability to set extraction program time by keying in the duration instead of fiddling with the +/- bar
7. remove unnecessary clicks by combining all the information in the various pop-up boxes into a single window for each structure
8. improved routing of materials by drag and drop
9. remove the 3D spinning structure effect, it gets in the way of everything
10. do away with the slow rotating fly-in visual when you open the planet mode view
11. add some sort of visual that indicates problems such as un-routed materials etc

My RSI would very much appreciate some of these and they would make PI much less of a chore.

Have we ever had a response from a Dev on whether PI will ever get some attention?
