here we go again...wardeccers and gankers Roll

if newbies want to learn pvp move out of highsec and focus on lowsec faction warfare will teach you the basics of pvp and you can go from there. i wouldnt listen to the wardeccers who tell you to fight because thats pointless these guys are far more experienced than 90% of the people they wardec. (they dont wardec to lose)

as for this being "good for the game" as quoted by a CODE. then whats really good for the game, the gankers ganking the corps or the corps doing what the guide says to avoid the gankers who just troll everything they see in local, its major flaw on both sides if people have to do this sort of thing to avoid people

This guide isnt ideal really so i would search around for something else as following this route may just make you quit the game through boredom of reforming and abandoning corps every 2 days

Domination Nephilim - Angel Cartel

Calm down miner. As you pointed out, people think they can get away with stuff they would not in rl... Like for example illegal mining... - Ima Wreckyou*

It's valid because it works, it's terrible that it works that way but that doesn't change the fact that it does make the most sense for a lot of people. It's just a bit weird, to me at least, that you empower newer players showing them something really profitable requiring teamwork and all that, and then turn around and yell "FLEE, you have no hope!" when they get confronted with a war.

It's a clash of ideas really, you're aiming for maximum efficiency focused on income. To me, personally, that's a boring and terrible goal to have in a sandbox (pretty much all numerical goals are terrible and a waste) but this being a sandbox neither of us is wrong. I disagree with your ideas and goal but agree that the best way to get to those goals is to do as you described.

Thank you for your less critical reply, I understand how you feel, but it is just a breeding ground for moneymakers, all I do is give people a choice to get rich quick and then they are truly free to do whatever they want, most of them start couple alts to explore other carrier choices and go off make their own nulltax corp with the main. Wars are valuable content but we see them as inconvenience and avoid them completely in this corp in particular =D and we can both agree that this is (un)fortunately the best way to deal with it.

And yes, "flee you have no hope", cause if you show up in something decent, they are going to dock up and taunt spam local. I don't really have time for that "content".
In the end all you get for standing up for yourself is a constant threat of them coming when you are not ready for them, cause let's face it, if you wardec a noob training corp you are definitelly not looking for a fair fight and are going to dock up as soon as it seems out of hand.

If you fight one war, perhaps even start it, where you get some kills (not every wardeccer is a pvp god, not even slightly) using a whole bunch of really boring & annoying ships like Drakes and Blackbirds (no solo/smaller group likes to kill Drakes: they're annoying, take ages to kill and never drop anything good. Blackbirds are a a low SP counter vs small pvp groups) then you will avoid the vast majority of decs in the future.

And while that would not be optimal in regards to income it would , perhaps, teach those newbies something more valuable than how to maximise their income. But as said it's a clash of ideas.

"Flee you have no hope" and "learn something valuable" both make no sense to me with in the context of a game. If you like PvP then you like PvP and I see "gf" thrown up in local from PvPers all the time from both the winners and the loosers. So if you enjoy PvP and enjoy winning even more then learning how to PvP could be something of "value" to you.

However if you don't like PvP then learning how to better PvP is of no value to you. Also if you don't like to PvP then you don't like to PvP and winning and loosing is really pointless if you PvP you've already lost regardless of if you make it out with your ship or not, so I guess maybe there truly is no hope in that situation since if you engage in PvP you've lost either way.

I see people in here agreeing that it is a difference of opinion and then using words like "valuable" with regards to their playstyle which carries with it the implication that other playstyles are valueless. You might as well say "It's just a difference of opinion but your opinion is wrong and mine is right".

As far as what the OP is posting being bad for the game or bad for new players someone would have to explain that. You throw it out there as if it is inherently so with not only no evidence but with out any clue or indication. So how is someone having a different playstyle other than you "bad for the game"? How is the OP playing the way that he is playing "bad for new players" I mean if you they don't like avoiding war decs then they can join a corp that fights or join RvB or Eve Uni or what ever they like.

As has been pointed out this game is a sandbox. People can play the way that they want. How people can say in one breath that this is a sandbox and in the next breath say " but if you don't play the way that I do it's bad for the game" just makes no sense. Also how can you decide what is "good for new players"? Are you " new players"? I mean if you character's name is "New Players" then maybe you have a point otherwise what is "good" for someone else is not your call to make.

Very much so sir, we could keep on going with this forever, and I very much understand and can very much validate your advice being a decent way to get round and much more interesting in the way of making a name for yourself in New Eden. We just don't do that in the name of the dreaded efficiency.

You're awfully defensive about something I never stated. Sounds like you hit your own nerve.

It's not about the play style, I stated to disagree with the OPs but being fine with that. My point is that teaching newbies that they CAN, would they want to, make a stand and survive on their own power might be more useful to them than to automatically assume the catatonic "please kill me" stance.

The best way to keep newbies in this game is to empower them. One way is to show them a really good form of income. Another is to show them that, regardless of their chosen play style, they aren't necessarily at the whims of whomever wants to fck with them. I prefer the latter, the OP prefers the former.

Corps with an attitude like this are bad for the game, and need to be destroyed so they don't mistrain newbies.

A corp of low skilled players with little or no PVP experience that is competently led is a terrifying force if they fight back against a wardeccer or an AWOXer. Just assemble a bunch of frigates (add destroyers too if your attackers are fielding tech 2 frigates), undock all at once, focus fire, kill something, and get out fast.

Newbie corp might lose three 3m ships and take down a 500m Tengu. Even if the Tengu gets away, you will have earned a reputation as a corp not to mess with.

Two of the most successful nullsec organisations today began as groups designed to help newbies defend themselves. Goonswarm (many, many years before I played) and Brave Newbies (much more recently). They didn't want to stay in highsec, but they could have if they wanted to.

This is good advice for people that like PvP. However don't confuse people that don't like PvP with those that don't like loosing. I mean there are people out there that just do not like PvP regardless of the outcome. You can say this is a PvP game and if they don't like it they can leave and that is a valid perspective.

However I am one of those minority of players that does not like PvP and I've been playing this game more on than off since 2009. I come here on the new player section of the forums to tell new players like myself know that they are not alone and you can find a place for yourself in this game if look. Don't expect to get much support for your playstyle here on the forums from other players or from the devs but it can be done as long as you are not thin skinned.

Every interaction in EVE is PVP, even if you never engage in starship combat.

If you build a Retriever, you are harming everyone else that is trying to sell Retrievers. If you mine Veldspar, you are harming everyone else that might want to sell Veldspar, and helping supercapital producers in null. If you run a Sisters level 4 mission, you are hurting everyone else that owns Sisters LP and LP store goods.

All of that is PVP.

Now let's stop mistraining newbies to believe they are useless and get to teaching them to have claws and to learn to impose their will on the sandbox.

Let us repeatedly talk about nullsec in a HighSec corporation guide post, judging from the likes it's incredibly popular, you do this all the time?

this is not a guide to running a corp, this is a guide to turning a corp into a chatchannel.

something i picked up on this is "make sure your SRP is fair" then straight after you said "0 tax" how do you pay for srp if you have no tax or the corp has no income? - retracted as there is no srp because there is no money.

Even easier solution is to simply move to low sec, if the corp can't survive in low sec then you should quit the corp anyway since it will never leave high sec.

this is always the solution to these sort of highsec threads but yet nobody pays attention and does it, they just keep on living in highsec using a mechanic like this to dodge any danger they see

Null is awesome, you want to salvage for big boys as a newb go to null, if you want to feel empowered by receving a whole MILLION ISK sign up bonus and a free prefitted rifter to swarm enemies, go to null.
If you want to go for the optimals, no matter how heartless and non-heroic they might seem well, this guide is for you, it won't be a big corp, it won't be super famous, but it will make enemies waste billions and you as safe yet efficient as high sec can be.
