my old card expired Ugh so here goes,

trying to figure out how to change my card details is hard enough

having to update my card details on three different accounts is a pain in the ass

and im pretty sure i just got my card blocked because it just denied my second attempt because you live in Iceland and cant be trusted with money

i failed to add that the only method of updating my card details seemed to be cancelling the subscription, and starting a new one.

Hm this happened to me, but since I had no problems I dont really remember switching cards. Had to cancel a card then enter new once. Must have been easy for me since I dont remember it at all.

Dont think their is an update to credit cards. Companies dont show them on sites and must be a total renew of the number or a fresh creation of a new card.

they call a visa debit card a credit card

Register card with Google Checkout, buy a PLEX from ShatteredCrystal.com.

Do the hours for plex thing. Activate PLEX, get back into.. whatever it is you do.

Those debit cars can also use the option of credit as well. At store can use credit for it then you sign it or use debit and punch the code. Not sure how the bank treats you using those options though and penalties assigned for going as debit or credit if their are any.

I guess you guys are all from the states or something.

im not 100% sure of the difference, but there seems to be one here in the UK between a debit card and a credit card.

Also, im pretty sure when i attempted to 'update' my second account (that expires in april) they tried to bill me right now. Even when it says they will bill me at the beginning of the period or something.

I'm kinda glad that the transaction didnt go through, i dont want to be paying for a years subscription that starts next April/March.

Diffrence between a debit and credit card in ol blighty here is a debit card pulls the money straight from your personal account . A credit card is paid upfront by the company then recovered from you (with interest) later.

To anyone reading this thread, make a comment if your banks have ever put a stop on your card because they flagged a payment to Iceland as suspicious

I've had this happen, with CCP; albeit years ago when I actually paid cash to play this game..

(firstly, i know asking for a DEV reply almost guarantees that you dont get one, but one can hope they take their game seriously enough)

I would like a DEV reply promising to take a look at the account management page and add a function to update bank account details. As it currently stands, the only method of updating your card details is liable to get your bank card blocked because of Iceland's infamous past financial reputation.

tl:dr EVE got my debit card put on hold because of a sub par account management page, which needs to be fixed

I live in the UK.

It is cheaper to purchase a 60 day GTC from a reseller in the US such as shattered crystal, than to buy them from EU resellers or pay a rolling monthly subscription.

That is all.

(i would have never thought that buying plex from the USA would be cheaper than a yearly sub option, but im prepared to do this if it is indeed cheaper)

unless you pay yearly, then it works out a bit better to pay in euros. and tahts even with teh stupid bank charges cos we are paying in a currancy that is not our own.

always belived that we in teh uk should be charged in pounds, ccps reasons for not doing this is eu tax rules, although for none yearly subs we dont need to pay tax under uk tax rules. ccp are just lazy and pocket the tax imho.

Well i dont know many people who still pay for Eve with real money?

But saying that i checked my account page and got annoyed, because they auto bill your Credit Card after the Plex run out???

The only option to stop this is to cancel your account........

I do not see anywhere to update my Card info , i think they must have my details from 04 ..........paying with ETC then plex is the best way , but must admit i was shocked after all these years that they auto charge when your ETC, or plex runs dry.Shocked

After i cancelled then clicked on a new yearly option for my account that was about to expire i tried to update my card details for my account that runs out in April, im pretty sure they tried to bill me the cost straight away.

Not cool CCP, also, thats the transaction that made Barclays have a suspishus and block my card
