It should also be stated that gatecamps in 0.0 are much more dangerous than in lowsec. In 0.0, people can deploy "bubbles" (interdiction spheres) within which no one can warp, so you have to get out of the bubble alive before warping away. It's a whole other topic. Just know that once you've absorbed the lessons in this thread, you'll have to learn whole new ones for 0.0...

You can still loot the wrecks, just wait out your timer before trying to unload. I usually bounce around between safe spots. Salvage first though.

Is there other side effects of being flagged?

I am not a big fan of ninja looting but if the wrecks are clearly abandonned I could greatly use them to make some isk. I just don't want to become an outlaw (losing faction?) because of it.

And what do you mean by "salvage first"? Won't I destroy the cargo If i salvage First?

No. The wreck will disappear and a container with the loot will take its place. The container will have the same color as the wreck. (So, yellow if the wreck is yellow.)

And there are no penalties to going suspect other than the 15 minutes "everyone can shoot you" timer.

If i loot at the end of my gaming shift and log out, will the timer keep on going?

The timer keeps going. You can log back in 15mins and no longer be suspect.

Well fun is also good.

congrats on your first low-sec experience. mine was very similar back in 06.

dont let it scare you off, low-sec is way better than high-sec in all forms. the only reason i goto high-sec is to stock up on ships.

Some excellent ideas here I have few thoughts to add.

While the nanofiber structures are excellent some ships give better results(shorter align time) by using the inertia stabilizers, the downside to these is a slightly higher sig res so you are easier to target so experiment and use what you think is best.

A link to the MWD trick just because I have it bookmarked.

Ultimately the best option for this type of game play is the cov-ops frigate. Properly fit and properly flown they are close to impossible to catch, on top of that they have better bonuses to the scan probes etc than the T1 counter parts.

No one else has covered your statement about making ISK to support your low sec activities so I want to touch on that.
There are many ways to make ISK in high sec, trading in goods, station trading, manufacturing and the list goes on.
However one of the easiest ways for many people to make ISK in high sec is level 4 missions.
If you cannot run them solo then find a vet near you that is willing to assist you. Be sure to train salvage skills as nearly half of your income from missions comes from the salvage and loot.
