Fantastic idea, Dante, and best of luck. I'm really excited to see how this works out; I'm taking notes for an event I've been working on for some time.

Some of you folks will definitely be getting mail from me in the future.

Thank you so much Quattras! I will be updating this post with updates on rules and info, thanks for the show of support!

Hey Dante here's an idea.

On rare occasions, mainly around some player events and some live events I had the honor of working with some of the elite nullsec fleet commanders (though those who work with them regularly would not use such kind words but it's always best to leave the foul language up to the professionals Big smile )

You might consider that for the fleet fight if a couple of experienced and known FCs would volunteer some time to head those fleets, the newer players may be inspired by this.
(I trust that an experienced FC is not going to be inspired but who says volunteer work is supposed to be easy every time?)

I only know of a couple that I worked with in live events who might consider but the large nullsec alliances might have more people who could be up to this task. I think the "taste" of what is probably the apex of Eve experience, working with an experienced FC, will be a positive one for many players who would not otherwise get that.

Meanwhile, I have been, for the fun of it, creating some T2 BPCs which having the science skills to create (a little OCD of me to hunt down the green checks in the skills panel) I don't have the skills and patience to build said T2 ships. So the Blueprints are yours for the asking. However you might have to find someone who can build ships from them as I don't have the materials or skill level in industry for that. If you can line up an industrialist who won't mind donating materials I can donate the BPs.

If you change your mind and decide to being back the combat scanning/probing competition you mentioned earlier I'll donate an Astero as the prize for that. I have one on the assembly line right now.

Great idea OP - but you may want to get a group like RvB Ganked or Spectre Fleet to basically act as guards for the tournament. This seems like the kind of thing that would be easily crashable with a T3-Guardian fleet.

That is a good idea, ill put that into the rules, should that just be ECM? Or should it include Tracking Disrupters and that? Because then that means Caldari will be at a disadvantage (They only get bonus to ECM).. And yes, RR would not be allowed, kinda unfair if its against new players and they can't understand why nothing is dying.. Self Rep is okay though, since even a day 1 Capsuleer has those skills (Given to you in tutorial.

Thank you for those 2 contacts i will get in touch with them and see if we can work something out, thank you :)

And will do, thank you so much!

P.S. Some of the guys i met at the pub last month told me about you, i need to get in contact with you about joining some roams! :D

Yes, you should join some of our public roams! In fact, I happen to be holding one of our monthly NewBro Roams this Sunday, February 15th, at 20:00 out of Berta. Prefit ships are supplied, just show up and have fun! Plus, it might give you some ideas, who knows?

As to other EWAR, such as tracking disruptors, sensor disruptors, and target painters, I'd leave them legal. You can mitigate tracks and damps by piloting properly for the most part, and paints just aren't that big an issue in a frigate vs frigate fight.

What you do for yourself dies with you, what you do for others is immortal.

As a grand finale for each round, once the final fight is complete the winner of the last match stays in space. All the participants from that round reship and warp to him. Whoever gets the killmail for the winner gets a bonus prize.

Just a thought.

Hilarious, and a good lesson about EVE, what's more.

That is a great idea.. I don't know many.. But ill talk to some guys i know IRL, they fly with some pretty good Null Sec groups, they might have some ideas or might be able to do it themselves.. Thanks for that!

And thank you so much! That is awesome, thank you so much! I will talk to my friends who are into industry, see if we can come to a deal, and awesome! I was going to bring it back, just focusing on this stuff at the moment, but that would be an awesome prize for the scanning stuff!

That.. That is a good point.. I thought it was against New Eden's rules (CCP) to attack people (Gank) in starter systems.. Am i wrong on that?

That is awesome! I will try and make it, is an EWAR/ECM focused pilot okay?..

And yeah, the normal EWAR will be okay, ECM might be banned in the 1vs1 100%, thanks for those idea's!

Given that the OP is now in Doomheim, I'm going to guess this idea isn't going ahead anymore.

Hey Dante!

Saw the post, and wanted to throw in some help in whatever way I can. I ran the stream for the RvB Tournaments seen here (and hopefully more coming in the future) and would gladly assist in setting things up, or running it for you. I did a write up on Crossing Zebras regarding how it is setup, here and Mangala did a write up of the tourny mechanics here.

I'd highly recommend speaking with Mangala. Expanding the tournaments to beyond RvB has been discussed, and I'm sure will be a topic of discussion during FanFest. Feel free to mail me, or hit me up on my stream if you have any questions! Good luck!

Erm ... umm ... hmm ...
That is a sticky one. I don't think EVE client has a "remember password" option and you should have told your girlfriend that "account sharing is illegal under the contract I signed with CCP," however, in most games the character wouldn't be completely deleted, the slot would be made available and the character archived, so essentially, it could be restored ... but how to go about that and not hit all the red tape ... Ugh

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.
