and lets just assume for the moment that ganking helpless and unsuspecting indies for no other reason than money or luls is what being a pirate is all about.

or were you thinking that "pirate" is some sort of acronym for people who exclusively engage in consensual pvp on the station undock?

We don't like when you push your carebearing values on us, so we simply counter by pushing our pirating ways on you. It is a sort of 'zen balance' really.

And don't listen to the guy who says to never pay ransoms in lowsec. If a Shadow Cartel member ransoms you and you want to save your implants, probably best to pay up as we always honor ransoms. Choice is yours though.

If you are looking for sympathy, C&P is a bad place to look. If you are trolling, I appreciate the passion in the post, you might try a career in stage acting. Either way, pirates are a pushy lot. That's why they are pirates, you know? I can appreciate what they do, and why they do it. The Dark Side flows strongly in many of us, who doesn't enjoy the rush of murder? It's a delicious aphrodisiac. The only reason I haven't really partaken is that it can be a hard life. Really, without people such as yourself, the pirate would starve and wither away. As much as I see what you are saying, do you see why the pirates do what they do? It's about survival and to survive, sacrifices must be made.

Oh, and one more thing, opening up on someone without reason is helping them. It is helping them learn that you can't trust everyone, that no one will hold your hand, that you have to be self-sufficient to survive, that you have to adapt and overcome, and that only the strong survive.

With all of this in mind, there are other factors to take into account. What prompts these attacks? It can either be for sport, which it is in many cases, or it can be for profit (the loss of a destroyer or two compared to the gains from looting and salvaging the wreckage of an Exhumer AND the destroyers lost in a suicide gank is a decent profit). By nature, mankind is always looking for something, be it the next adrenaline high, the next big score, or just the thrill of the hunt. It goes along with the whole Freudian concept of id, the primeval drive of mankind to be self-serving and survival minded.

Adapt to survive, or continue being preyed upon.

I love it when someone spends all day on a reply and ends it with some coined phrase like they are the man or something.

Let me help you out some here. Your goals and ambitions are pointless. You need to grow up before you can hope to achieve anything in this game. Seen many pirates so far and all were extremely fail and worthless. So run off now and join the other worthless people patting each other on the back talking about who has the better "Yarr".

Sir I take offence at your assertion that pirates must stop! Why, who would protect the rare veldspar asteroids if not for our vigilent watch ? If it was not for us "violencing your boat", who would keep the herds of these majestic asteroid creatures safe ? I have heard of the derpivations that these poor creatures suffer in the rural area's known as high sec, and I say NAY! Not a single beautiful asteroid will get mined under our watch!
