How can I 'ADBLOCK' the forum background image?

I am running chrome and have the adblock feature but when I try and rightclick 'block this ad' for the background it tries to adblock the forum content and not the image.

Any tips for blocking this annoying 'feature'?

Expecting a reply from Tippia (who is still red to my corp despite that being a request of an ex member who is a mongoloid).

override page styles from your browser options.

turn backgrounds off or something like that

If you're using firefox, you can filter gate.eveonline.com/content/images/backgrounds/* with adblock plus. (Or right clock > block).

Prefbar-> turn off Colours.

Makes reading easier too.

Using Ad Block Plus (ABP) for Firefox:

1. Right-click the background.
2. Select Block this image.
3. Select the custom rule: https://forums.eveonline.com/Themes/ccpEveOnline/mainBackground-station.jpg

I added it to my list of blocked sites and my pages are now as delicious as a delicious ham beast ♥


Steps for anyone interested and using chrome and adblock

ctrl + t for a new page

click on the wrench (top right) > tools > extensions

for adblock click options > customise > block an ad by its url

add...

gate.eveonline.com/content/images/backgrounds

...to the 'Block URLs containing this text' and click block it

Well yes and no. I see your point but this ...IS... eve-o after all, any help should be encouraged (and these are all generally cool posters in this thread). The fact I'm using adblock means advice relevant to that plugin benefits anyone using one of these adblock capable web browsermajobbies (I forgot the tech name for what they are derived from)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stateful_Packet_Inspection - in other words, a firewall that looks at traffic and can do pretty much anything you want with it - block, redirect, replace with naked gallente chicks, etc

Overkill, probably, but that's how I filter stuff to suite my needs.

EVE-Search is currently indexing the new forum fine and tracking stuff, it's just the front-end that isn't updated since it's a bit of hassle combining the old ID's with the new, but it's being worked on.

Since you are using Chorme install the Stylish instead. These forums look great with the old color scheme and are much easier to read + no background images.

Easier to just change the image.

What does removing the bg accomplish? I did it with ABP on FF and don't notice any change...other than the image is replaced by solid color. Forums load and run same-same.

Install the junks linked in my signature and remove/modify all the stuff you don't wanna keep from the config.
Background and tooltips are disabled by default. So is the "likes"-counter below avatars, as it is pretty much useless. Post specifig likes are enabled by default but you can get rid of them too if u like... and best of all - forums uses full width of the browser.
