Who are we?

Furtherance was formed in an attempt to directly impact Thera. As the first truly real content that CCP has injected into the game since 2009, we want Thera to be a vibrant, lived-in, used system, not just a new flash in the pan feature that fizzles just as soon as it is introducted. We we are and what we do was shaped directly with that in mind. We are living there. We are fighting there. We are helping others make use of the system as well. We are the founders of the largest Thera-centric community in-game, averaging over 220 users in the 'Thera Local Chat' channel. We've been featured on evenews24 & EVE Radio, and formed with the active involvement and brainstorming of several CSM members.

What do we offer?

  • Corporate TS3.
  • Corporate Industrial Support.
  • Camaraderie. We don’t care how many ops you run with the corp. We care that when you’re on, you’re chatting with/getting to know your fellow corp and alliance members.
  • A commitment to actively seeking out ideas to better ourselves. All of us are smarter than any one of us. Expect the ability to contribute right away.
  • Daily small gangs and organized fleets.
  • Scheduled specialized fleets.
  • A home in the most interesting system in EVE.
  • A "battleship-minded" corporation (mentality, not ships). Everyone has an ability that we expect them to use. As a result, content is not driven by the few, but by the many.
  • No drama, just a clear focus on contributing and having fun.

Who are we looking for?

Furtherance. is currently seeking content creators. As mentioned above, the corporation isn't a cruise ship. Don't join expecting myself or the other Directors to provide all of your content. You have gifts or abilities. Be ready to use them when you join the corp, regardless of how old your in-game character is (read: we don't currently have a SP minimum). Specifically, we're looking for PvPers, Explorers, and Industrialists willing and wanting to call Thera home. We are recruiting in all timezones, but with a particular emphasis on US and EU evenings.

  • Ideal PvPer candidates should be able to fly Bombers, Interceptors, Interdictors, and Shield/Skirmish HACs (Ishtars, Gilas)
  • Interested Explorers preferably can fly Cov Ops or cloaking T3 with max or near-max scanning skills
  • Industrialists should have the ability to haul into hostile space (Blockade Runner) and participate in building corp assets/seeding the Thera market.

Beyond those high level thoughts, we have some specific objectives as a corporation. We want to:

Help Others…

  • …to reach Thera. We have no intention at all to “claim” Thera. That’d be silly. We’re far too small. To that end, we have formed the ‘Thera Local Chat‘ channel which is open to the community at large. In it we list trusted scouts that you can solicit help from in entering the system. The idea is simple: Find the closest connection to where you are. Hop in your ship. Request to talk with one of the trusted scouts. They’ll let you know what the Thera side of the connection looks like as you approach. Jump in. Profit.
  • …to make use of the space. There are four stations in Thera. Two are kick outs. Two are not. All four can be camped by bombers, snipers, brawlers, etc… We want to ensure that, to the best of our ability, the stations remain clear so people can dock and undock per their desire.

Fight There

  • The above may lend you to believe that Furtherance is combat averse. We’re not. The opportunity for PvP is a huge reason why we chose Thera. While yes, we will scout you into the system and let you warp off, that does not mean we won’t blow you up in one of the anomalies or signatures in-system. We will. We’ll also actively engage people entering Thera that aren’t using the scouting service. That fully-loaded Orca you decided to bring in through the lowsec entrance on the sly? We saw it coming. It’s now a wreck. Sorry, but thanks for the content. Also, those inevitable station camps? We plan to actively intervene against those as well.

Live There

  • We plan on calling Thera home. Medical clone in one of the stations? Check. Intel channel that other friendly (read: awesome people to PvP alongside) residents can tap into? Check. Occasionally do some anoms or sigs that are in the system? Maybe. That’s pretty far behind our other interests.
  • A hyper-connected, mobile system also lends to amazing roaming PvP opportunities as well. At any given time we will have our choice of low and null systems to go pew in, and high sec to restock from. Today Immensea. Tomorrow Fountain. The next day Tribute. Then Delve.
  • The same is true for dedicated explorers, which we welcome with open arms. Having a new system/constellation/region available to you daily gives you unlimited opportunities to run those data, archaeology, and combat sites you’re wanting.

I wouldn't feel right if I didn't shamelessly throw in my own plug.

I've been flying in nullsec for over three years now. I met plenty of great people, had a lot of fun, and learned a lot about many aspects of this game. However, like so many other people have before me, I burnt out. It happens. My subscriptions had been inactive for months.

I never stopped following EVE news though, and CCP blogs about the new WH system "Thera" peaked my interest. A few days later, I saw a random posting in /r/eve which explained that a new corp was forming with the intent to settle in Thera.

I couldn't help myself. I resubbed both of my accounts, got Matthew into a private chat, and before I knew if, was out of Nullsec and in Furtherance.

It's been about a week since then. I've been getting to know my new corp mates. Some of them are industrialists, some of them are PvP'ers, some of them just like to explore We've got players that have been flying for many many years. We've got players that just joined the game after seeing the 'This Is EVE' trailer. All of them are excited to be here, and are generating a lot of new and fun content.

The last week has been some of the most fun I've had since I started playing EVE in 2011.

If you think that Thera might be the place for you, come hang out with us in the 'Furtherance Public" channel. If you just want to swing by and see what's up in Thera today, check out 'Thera Local Chat'.

Every day we are meeting new people, inside and outside of the corp, and we really are on our way to building an excellent and exciting new community in the EVE Online universe. Come be a part of it.

I can't speak much for the actual corporation, as I'm not officially part of it. As for the CEO though, he used to be a director in my corporation and is one of the most passionate people I've met in EVE. This new Furtherance project is something I can tell he is really dedicated to, and honestly, the stories I've been hearing about the corporations exploits in Thera make me want to pick up and move there. If you are looking for small gang, cruiser down fun, around the clock, and the ability to fly cloaky stuff to it's maximum potential, this is definitely the corporation for you. If you like exploration, scanning, and helping others, this is a good fit as well. It has a little bit of everything. It's ambitious, and it's thriving. Get in on the ground floor.

I have been playing Eve since late 2006. In my first 2 years I found the most amazing group of people that gave me a reason to log on. In 2008, we were victim of a director corp theft. It destroyed our moral, isk and eventually took the corp with it too. I spent on and off the next 6 years aimlessly wandering the galaxy. Looking for that home I once lost. I have finally found it, and it is futherance. This corp's members and vision excite me everytime I log on. I am meeting new and amazing people, bonding with every ship I blow up.

I see big things for furtherance. BNI, Eve Uni, RvB and many other new player friendly corps start small in members but grow into historically massive orgainizations with immense impact on the universe. Futherance will be that impact.

I flew with these chaps as part of their Theradome free for all yesterday. They were welcoming, competent and fun. The event was also surprisingly well organised for something that had been put together in 48 hours. On that basis I'd definitely recommend.

Living in Thera is the most interesting thing ive ever done in eve. I can think of no better corp to do it with than these guys too. We all help each other out, and theres always something to do, seriously, always. Weve got guys who explore, guys who do industry, and even a local drug dealer who gives us the opportunity to make bank. Thera isnt for everyone but its gotten to the point that I feel safer in Thera then I do in high sec. If youre looking for a new adventure come join our public channel Furtherance Public and hang out.

Furtherance was like going from the fridge and going right into the fire of null-sec and pvp for me. I was in High-Sec for nearly 90% of my Eve career and this is really a new experience for me being in Thera. Where there are truely no rules to follow. I am always used to having CONCORD hovering over me and protecting me, but for me it's like going from warm water into cold water. Anyththing goes. And personally, I enjoy it. I have no idea where half of these people get their ISK, as I still cry over a 30-mil loss (I do not know who wouldn't!).

Honestly, I've learned about a third of what I now know over two weeks with Furtherance, and they are very kind to me!

*Nervous laughter, being about a billion in debt to them*Ugh

But in being serious, they are very generous and kind to new members, and are welcoming to everyone that I've seen. I only hope that more people find us and join our cause of bringing content to Thera, and making it truely a new home for many players!

There is my word on it. Pirate

Great bunch of pilots and highly recommended for those who want to enjoy PvP and other activities in a purpose-driven, Thera-based corp.

Great community of self sufficient pilots. Every pilot is expected to take care of themselves, and as a result, there is a large pool of pilots who are all around competent, and are eager to help you out if there's some new aspect of the game you want to get into. It was a stark contrast to my previous corp, which seemed like a handful of experienced FCs herding a bunch of cats.

We're doing gas mining, industry, sleeper ratting, drug production, PI, wormhole/null exploration, marketing, PvE, and LOTs of PvP (I'm sure I'm missing stuff too). The concept of "content creators" also makes it very easy for anyone to start leading in whatever they would like to do. Have a good idea? Blast it out to the corp, and next thing you know, you've got a dozen people mining gas and killing sleepers in a super-rare shattered wormhole.

Finally, the location could not be better. Thera has multiple, constant connections to high, low, null and J-space. Want to do a PvP roam through faction warfare space? It's there. Want to do exploration in null? There's a connection. Want to buy a new ship at a good price? One of the major trade hubs is less than 10 jumps away and there's a route that won't have a massive gate camp waiting for you.

Well, if that didn't convince you to at least ask a Furtherance scout to help you get safely into Thera to check it out (oh yeah, we do that too), I don't know what will.

There is no short supply of things to do with Furtherance.

Since our location is in Thera we are (on average) never more than 10 jumps away from anything because of the large amount of connections that Thera generates.

Every day there is a group ready to form up and do something. We always have a connection to run sites in wormhole space or null-sec and also set up small gangs to roam around Thera and almost any part of space. It is really a very unique part of the game and opens many possibilities for content in the game.

Furtherance is made up of both newbros (like me) and vets so it is also a great place to learn or share you experience with other players.

Thera is awesome and so are we! Join us!
