Looking for new computer monitor

Let me first say I love Eve! My biggest complaint is the screen real estate. Between the target box, the overview, multiple chat windows, d scan, probe scan, drones window, fleet I can hardly ever see anything else.

I am looking at multiple monitors and I wanted to get something with increased screen resolution. I am looking at 1920x 10 80, I wanted something bigger than this resolution size, but then I start reading about screen refresh rates not being adequate with the higher resolution monitors.

I know some comments will be Eve has pictures? But I just wanted some technology information from anybody who knows something about computer monitors. I don't have unlimited income to spend, but a few hundred dollars at least. Pretty much anything will be better than mine now very outdated 14 40 x 9 80 screen resolution.

Thank you so much for any information, and I hope this is in the right section.

I'm using 3 21.5" Benq monitors. And they're running just fine. 1920x1080.

About £100-120 each. BenQ GL2250
Not high end, but reasonable color reproduction. (not 'new' either. from 2012)

Woo! CSM XI!

I run 2 24" Philips 244EL displays on my EVE PC. I also have another Philips 24" that I bought to (fairly closely) match them for the computer that sit's next to the gaming machine. All 3 are 1920x1080

The newer one appears to still be on sale, £120 from amazon.

Generally when I shop for new monitors, I look on ebuyer for cheap ones from a fairly decent brand, then do a bit of research on them. I've had good experiences with samsung and philips.

Watch out for randomly missing features though, like this one, that is a very good price, but has no DVI port (it does have HDMI and VGA)

I find with a 24" 1920x1080 monitor, with my main full screened on it, I can just about make enough room between chat channels and overview to see my ship!

I was looking at an LG widescreen monitor this morning. It appears you could have two clients running at same time on this screen. So instead of alt tabbing to switch between two toons on one monitor, you could split the widescreen and have both toons display at same time on one monitor. I'm not very computer savvy, and was wondering if I'm correct about this. I'm thinking about getting one.

Two different PCs can be hooked up to the monitor and run web pages, programs, etc, from both computers simultaneously.

Anyway, maybe a widescreen would give you what you want.

I'm using the 34" LG 34UM95 which has a cinemascope aspect ratio and 3440x1440 resolution (not to be confused with the lower resolution 34UM65 btw). It works beautifully with two clients side by side and of course for watching movies in cinemascope format. Note that you need to connect via DisplayPort, otherwise the refresh rate will be capped.
Of course if your only goal is to run multiple clients, you'd be able to buy four 24" HD resolution screens for the same money.
