Off grid t3's are hated by many, but they are possible to scan with a bit of hassle.

But while roaming trough low-sec space i have stumbled upon another and op use of off-grid links; command ships on station undock.

So, i think links should get weapon timer, and after you activate them you should not be able to dock for 60s.

Stop silly station games abuse .... Roll

After all links are combat related a lot! Right?

Well, if the link ship has to dock because he's being shot, he is no longer giving out those bonuses, right? op success.

Well nooo, if you are in empty space in T3 you can get probed and killed, but with this station games and can doack and undocak as much as you see fit.

And to keep enemy links docked you have to sit on station, shoot, warp off or tank station guns. and after all there is nothing you can do to him.

but you can kill other offgrid boosters. It's no longer possible to boost from inside of pos bubble either; it should no longer be possible to just boost from station undock ... Straight not without some drawback attached to it

Howabout just not have off-grid links?

Off-Grid boosting is in healthy state as it is now, the only problem i gave here is abuse of docking mechanics Blink

so being able to dock, and lose all effectiveness, is more broken than being able to hide anywhere in system in an NPC corp?

right...

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

Daichi Yamato's version of structure based decs

If links warp to a station or POS when they see probes, they are bad. Proper links cloak as soon as they see probes in an uncomfortable close range. I don't know any link pilot who would warp to a station as the links then would be trapped inside and can just be shot and forced back into station. If they sit on station already, aforementioned applies as you just need to force the links into station.

Lets instead address the issue of links in deadspace edge locations. You can have running ganklinks 10000 km away from closest warpable location and the only real threat to them is being afk for over an hour and someone burns to them in a gimped ship that can't really fight.

As in you don't even have to worry about probes.

Oh did I mention you can light a cyno in a location where deadspace isn't active yet and then spawn it over that?

Yeah you can cyno a titan to a location that isn't warpable to.

EvE-Mail me if you need anything.

Fleet can send some people to the station and force the links to dock. There's always useless ships in the fleets (like Caracals or Thrashers in an Eagle fleet). Players just need to start thinking instead of mindlessly following FC orders.

I am not aware of that. You want links in mid space that cloak up when they get probed. Or when they sit on station to be easily shootable (which means even less than 0 people will do it). I tell you that you can already permanently force Links to dock that sat on stations, ie. you can already force them to dock and prevent station games, without any changes to mechanics. All you need to have is an intelligent fleet and intelligent fleet management.

No, actually he brings up a valid point. There is already a perfectly useful counter to links sitting on a station. Throw a few ships at them to keep them docked, and voila, no more links. The fact that you find yourself either unable or unwilling to use the already established counter does not really matter.

Someone committing enough ships to scare a damnation on station are asking to get hotdropped.

I think a Griffin and a Thrasher could scare it pretty good.

and when the stations campers keep the link boat locked up in station at some point the enemy fleet has two options.

Fight without the link boat. Not ideal if your link boat is out and about, they are already off to a bad start there maybe.

Or send some ships to break the camp. Now they are less players on the field in the fight to deal with your station campers.

Then we get fun what if they engage scenarios. Does the breaker fleet diaf? If so now the fleet is down ships...and the link boat is still docked. If they sent 4 the first run do they send 8 the 2nd run?

Take away is not all eve pvp has to be several idiots banging heads against each other in one big ole pile. Many opt for this ofc...doesn't mean you have to not think outside the box like they do though.

I'm going to give a +1 to the notion OP describes. Literally everyone else in the fleet is getting a weapons timer for their aggressive action; is the link ship really being deemed as non-aggressive in a fight simply because their weapons aren't cycling? Those boosts are going out and assisting the pilots who are shooting other pilots - I'd say that's participating in the same aggression and worthy of the same timer.

Before someone howls about links in PvE, Marauders have a weapons timer from using Bastion Mode and the proverbial sky hasn't crashed down on us yet.
