1.0.3 Patcher Fails and Repair Fails

Well the patch failed, as did the repairer. The repairer failed with the following error message:

WindowsError: [Error 5] Access is denied: 'D:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE\\bin\\_trinity_deploy.dll'

In this case the installation path, as you can guess is:

D:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\

Sadly I've tried both as least user access account and administrator, and the error is the same in both instances. It simply fails to update this file, even though this is performed with an appropriately authorized user account.

Any thoughts as to the reason?

As it turned out the process launching the patcher failed to exit completely, leaving a rogue process active and locking files that were trying to be patched/repaired.

Killed the rogue process, and the repair went as expected.

Maybe this will be helpful to someone else in the future. :)

I have this same problem, unfortunatly I didnt notice the phantom process's and never thought to restart my PC between the failed update and trying the repair tool.
My current problem is I uninstalled my client, and now I cant seem to get the download link on the eve site to work, I get a broken link page whenever I try.
Is this link broken, or am I having my own PC issues?

this is all based around the _trinity_deploy.dll

this is how my repair attempts go. before work today i had the same problem which i resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling eve entirely, which meant ALL of my bandwidth, and my free time lost. so yeah. im going to play BF3 instead while you guys figure this out. thx

We just released a repair tool updated which fixes this issue.

New repair tool is giving Norton fits. wont install or run even when trusted.

Runs fine when using the sisi launcher but if you try to run it from the file folder Norton sonor deletes the file:...appdata\local\temp\nsd5b8e.temp\repair.exe

also main eve client with sisi laucher it runs on TQ it uploads and installs but TQ if fails every time.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

See you around the universe.
