Why don't more women play Eve Online?

Since english is hard, allow me to break it down for you: What I said had nothing to do with 'whites' being punished for anything. The idea that what I said even suggested that speaks more to the failures of your worldview than anything I said.

The more literal translation would be "you're a white person from a place where people like you had power over others (whether you did personally is beyond the point), I'm a black guy from a country that hasn't been friendly to people like me. If I have no reason to complain (and I don't, I was never a slave and I wasn't alive in the Jim Crow era, I live in a time where MERIT decides what happens to me), YOU have even LESS reason to complain/claim victimhood than I (or sybil) would if I (we) were so inclined"

Lol, classic. I have LESS reason to compain because some other people I had nothing to do with opressed people in the past.

To make it clear for you mate, nobody owes you anything. I have a jewish friend who lives in my country, you think he blames germans for killing his ancestors? Nope, he doesn't. People who did it are long gone by now, so are people who enslaved black people in the US.


Get over it and stop playing a victim already.

I'm not a racist, everyone should be treated the same, skin color doesn't matter. Past is the past.

Actually someone remarked in comms once "You are not like other girl gamers I've come across who all seem to be wierdos, you're like a guy." I have an idea anyway, which seems perfectly logical and sensible. Since most of the posters in here are guys with girl avatars - doesn't that count as roleplay? Should the guys RPing girls be confined to the IC forums and forced to speak in character? I'm sure it would go a long way to help the playerbase achieve a deeper understanding of the female mindset. Maybe encourage more voice mod use so you can experience the joy of being slobbered at by a forever virgin in comms.

one thing i dont like is when a girl gamer does speak on comms

someone always yells really really loudly 'oh wow. its a girl'

hurts my ears.

but back on topic, there was an alliance meeting and a girl gamer spoke up about her concerns in the corp then when the meeting finished got pestered by the guys asking topics about her bra.

dont think i ever saw her back on comms after that

That would be hilarious but would end up being irrelevant as most would just apply whatever view of a women personality they see. Nobody would end up feeling like a women does as there would no longer be such a massive amount of people acting like idiots when their presence is noticed...

The flaw here is the belief that "the playerbase" needs a "deeper understanding of the female mindset". No, the player base need simply follow the in game rules set forth in the EULA as far as anything goes. People should be themselves and let the chips fall where they may, not sit around thinking "if they just understood us everything would be fine". Personally I've never felt any kind of need to force this overwhelmingly white gaming community "understand my pain" lol.

Being irritated by idiots is part of the price of the freedoms the internet offers. I apparently "sound" black on comms and have had people ask me all manner of questions about basketball, hip hop and fried chicken. I can't play basketball, don't like most hip hop and....ok I'm not going to lie, Fried Chicken is delicious but I remind people that the Colonel was a white guy..

It seems that for some people it's just too hard to let ignorant people be ignorant without going on some kind of crusade to change them.

According to the TOS, we should acutally treat everybody with respect.

You may not use any abusive, defamatory, ethnically or racially offensive, harassing, harmful, hateful, obscene, offensive, sexually explicit, threatening or vulgar language. (Alternate spelling or partial masking of such words will be reprimanded in the same manner as the actual use of such words.)

Technically, dropping a N-bomb on you should be reportable but good luck to anyone being told to get back in the kitchen with reporting the BS happening on team speak servers...

Is that person supposed to be representative of men in EVE? I would advise you don't draw that comparison. It is unfair to the vast majority of guys in EVE who are nothing like that.

Not trying to paint every guy as being G.
However, this is one example where aggression runs high.

I have played a variety of other online games, WoW (for as long as I could stand it with an ex), Lost Chaos, Perfect World, Anarchy Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online and so forth. I have also spent time in Second Life (mostly playing Go, sitting on a beach talking to friends in private messages, sailing or hot air ballooning) and I have to say that except for some FPS games, I have never encountered so much easy to tap hostility and male drama.

I am saying, that to answer the OP. It is the conduct of men, that is why women are so few in this game.
