Hi,

Can you play Eve on PS3?

I know you can get Steam on PS3 and you can play Eve on Steam so does this mean it will work on PS3?

If it works on PS3 and you hook up a mouse and keyboard, will they work with EVE? If not, is it hard to play Eve with a controller?

Lastly, If I sign up for Eve on steam and pay the $20 will I be able to access the accounts I created on my PC?

Thanks!

Why would you ever want to play a game like EVE on the PS3? What?

Surely if you made accounts on a computer then you have one you could use instead?

Not the way you are thinking. Eve can be linked through steam but it doesn't actually 'run on steam'.

There's probably a way of running eve in wine through linux or something daft like that but I have no idea how well that would work.

It's bad enough I have to put up with roleplayers and you want to add console kiddies to the mix?

Forsooth, Lady Harlot. Assuage thine anguish for yonder Windows belongs rightly to a PC.

Suggestion

Make EVE only console based.. And manufacture your own consoles ...

Last time I checked the PS3 didn't play well with directx.

It wouldn't even be able to be shoehorned into a PS3 without official support, given memory restraints alone.

Cyno's lit, bridge is up, but one pilot won't be jumping home.

Wine wont help you because Wine Is Not (an) Emulator. And yes that's what Wine stands for. Wine can't help you much if you don't run it on x86 (technically it can help you but you still have to port quite a bit of code by hand).

How about on a Xbox 360 instead? Since it uses Microsoft's DirectX API, I think.

Makes sense too, EVE on Xbox360, only, the console kiddies are the future and Dust on PS3, only.

Uhh uhh, and make these forums only available through an smart phone app!

Yep. Think of a PS3 as a PowerPC mac. If powerful enough, you could run a full emulator, but you'd have to hate yourself (Windows emulators in the PPC era had godawful performance).

Radial menus everywhere!

you talking about running it with out destroying a PS3

or as in using a PS3(or 3) parts to build a mega system built just to run EvE( i did this with help form friends for a while before it burned up)

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

Wouldn't dust start causing heating issues on the poorly ventilated PS3?
