dont see how this wouldnt be pay to win...

Sure youve got ppl like goons who would have enough ingame isk to make single player controlled freighter-destroying fleets of destroyers, but still... the fact that if this were in place, somebody could spend RL cash, to amass a fleet or several fleets that instantly respond to their commands.... im mean... pay to win...

you might as well be like: damage = base * plex

Why spend all those PLEX when your in-game friend can just subordinate their own too to you by exploding the "controlling" rookie frig so the control get's passed higher up in the fleet hierarchy?

Why wouldn't the control of the remaining ships drop to the next highest ship in the list instead, with the player directly controlling it with the remaining vessels on the UI at that point...?

Have the original ship, now a pod, drop to the bottom of the list, and give it the option to auto-pilot to a predetermined location, such as an Outpost or BM. (A BM could be next to a friendly POS tower, for example)

Being able to exchange control between the ships under your command would be sensible, I think, especially in cases where the previous flag ship was lost in action.

The sensible thing to do is to actually never implement a new way to do command broadcasting but I guess you people can't see this as exactly a replacement for the soon to be banned Isboxer feature with more functionality added to it.

The control of the ship should not be given to the same player but in the next ship because it remove tactical situation where head-shotting the FC is a working strat. You really want an FC to have the buffer of a dozen ships?

Why would you even say that?

And what fleet commander is not capable of having at least a second account, local and active, in the event a first being lost would handicap a fleet.
(And this assumes they have no backup FC, and noone is capable of assuming command with coaching over voice comms)

One of the major issues with the isboxer software, is that it is third party.
That means that CCP cannot guarantee fair and even distribution to all players, creating an advantage situation for those who did use it.
Add to which, the software caters to those capable of running it in addition to multiple clients, making for a gaming rig that could be a bit too pricey for joe average player. Arguably, that creates a pay to win dynamic, which I think is horrible.

If the control is server sided, any system able to play EVE is also able to control those accounts, and can be regulated to avoid many types of abuse by being linked through the account management tool.

The right way to alt as an FC is use a covops character that cannot be seen, and that's already being used.

NO

Why?

More player control, less NPC.

No NPC control of a player fit ship.

I am Rain's TEST alt.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

looks like you need more votes, Donnachadh

Interesting, I was not aware this was a voting thing or that the side with the most votes determines what CCP puts into or removes from the game. I will have to go back and read the whole thou shalt do and thou shalt not do portions of this forum as I understood that this was a place where we could all post requests for changes / additions to the game and then discuss them in a reasonable fashion.

I am sorry that my posts offended you to such an extent that you felt it necessary to respond with the postings on this page. However you can be assured that I will continue to post my thoughts and ideas in the most logical, polite manor that I can and if they offend you in the future then so be it. I would suggest that you grow a thicker skin after all this is only an internet space ship game not life and death.

There is an oft stated thing in these forums that you should post with your MAIN character. I cannot prove that all of those "Rain" characters are yours, but I am willing to bet that they are and I wonder what you were trying to prove by posting the same thing with all of them? Or does this go back to your mistaken belief that EvE is a democratic society and that you were in a sense "stuffing" the ballet box.

I can promise you and everyone else here this much, Donnachadh is the character that represents me the human being on these forums and he is the only character you will ever see me post with. I challenge you to pick a character and do the same thing.
