You know you can copy skills without a mirror now? Why do you need a mirror?

A refresh of sell orders/contracts also is something that helps greatly. Some items are not seeded and it's difficult to get a hold of them otherwise.

I'm planning on building a Supercarrier on SISI, and would like to set up a POS & gather all the material for it, knowing it'll take about 30 days to JUST build the carrier & further 35 days (aprox) for my skills to be complete. Although now i won't need to worry about skills i guess, due to the "/copyskills " command ! ^^
Although, it says that only my "fully trained skills" will be copied, does this mean that Only my skills that i've trained to Level 5 will be copied ? Not quite sure how it'll work :/

Fully trained levels of a skill. You also will have to login to your character on TQ before the data gets saved and therefore available for that feature. As I understood it, that data gets saved each day.

I will try it right now, I've already used the command on the SISI server, signing into TQ just like you mentioned. ^^

You seem to have it backwards.

First you log TQ, which will then save a snapshot of your skills.

Then you log SiSi and can copy that snapshot over onto your SiSi character.

I tried it, and it did work, it copied 7 skills. Was afraid it'd reset the skills that were NOT maxed for some reason, but it didn't do that c: Was slightly paranoid though! ^^

Short update: A new mirror is being prepared and will be deployed to Singularity within the next few days, but the day is not confirmed yet.

We'll get warning before the mirror itself happens, though, right?

Depends what you mean? So, we usually update the mirror as part of a regular downtime. In that respect, you'll get the warning of the downtime timer. We may also post on the forums when we're applying it, but that's usually a couple of hours warning at best. If you mean the date that we take the snapshot on TQ, that's already happened.

I meant telling the players in advance what day the mirror will be applied to the test server.

Essentially the process as is goes like this:
- EVE QA request a new "master" mirror. From request to creation usually takes somewhere between 2 days and a working week.
- A "slave" of the master mirror is created for use on a test server (in this case Sisi)
- Some processing work is done on the new slave mirror, which we commonly refer to as "pruning". This is removing all of the sensitive info, like POS positions and setups, scrambling moon minerals, removing standings reqs from outposts, etc. This process can take a few days.
- Ops let us know the mirror is ready for use
- We apply the mirror to Sisi

We don't like to inform players as to when we are going to take the snapshot, as that might cause them to play differently on TQ. Following the creation of the master, I don't necessarily see what the benefit to informing people would be, but obviously I won't have considered all possible use cases, so if you can tell me the value in it we can definitely look into it.

PEOPLE ONLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE DATE OF THE MIRROR IS SO THEY CAN DIRTY BUM RUSH JITA FOR SHINY MODS Keep it as is. Actually go back to just saying SOON. Because when you drop definitive dates you end up with these .

People dding things on station because the mirror is tommorrow and such. If the copyskills thing is going to be working people really have no reason to whine for new mirrors. With the exceptions of new accounts or transferred toons.
