My best guess so far is that the blue shield absorbs and collects damage to charge these new doomsday lazors from hell. Which would explain why they are only used upon shield depletion.

To not have some epic live event to herald new content as epic as this would be a sin.

If this were happening back in 2009 - 2011 even a thread like this would be scrolled to page 4 in 20 minutes and the RL casualties would be chalked up to total nerdgasms.

Suddenly, the Battle of Vak'Atioth is relevant again.

Also, the Lux weapon shares similarities with the Concord Killbeam, that one also comes with a cooldown & is capable of oneshotting stuff (to a much greater degree) The killbeam is after all Jove tech (ingame lore explanation for the Concord superweapon) Wonderfully demonstrated roughly 2 years ago by a bunch of players: Capsuleers fail to gank Concord

So the Jove are returning, but they're not the Jove we know, considering their difference in design.
Might be CCP preparing to allow capitals in highsec? been talked about, but CCP needs a reason to allow it. A Jove attack would be a good enough reason I think?

Has the theory come up that Caroline's Star was the result of another Terran Superweapon? if Jamyl found one, Jovians, sleepers, even Sansha could all have found one. (I only thought of it after watching the Scope video that theorized it was a Jovian weapon aimed at Sansha.)

I just realized... Doesn't the Caroline's Star nebula look suspiciuosly like an eye?

An ever vigilant eye that can be seen from all known space, that may in turn see all those corners of the cluster?

Which seems to be located in deep Jove space?

Whose green color reminds a lot of the green hulls of the old Jove ships?

Probably linked to theras access, the first star in 08 or 09 was soe entering wh space
