I went around a bit and checked on the positions of those structures and found them all to be in systems with planets that have a off-axis orbit. Wonder if that is a connection or if such systems are just really common.

One thing I always liked about Eve is that if you are into sci fi, you can track influence from everywhere.

So I wonder if The Other is a concept drawn from The Mad Mind and Vanamonde of "City and the Stars", an Arthur C. Clark novel I read back in 1989, a college course in Science Fiction.
(the only class I ever took that did not require 2 gallons of coffee to get half motivated for)

I reread Theodicy last night. I am now convinced that the volume integral logo will be the logo of the Talocan, and they are coming back.

They never really left, they are a race which moves from place to place never settling down.

So fun fact, the drifters got what looks to be their final update today. I engaged two of them with my stratios like i did a few days ago, and it was alpha'd off the field in 3 hits doing about 3-7k damage each. And from what i heard from others after you deplete their blue shields they fire a super weapon that does immense damage.

im legit scurred now ccp

Well colour me surprised. It really does seem, more and more each day, like these guys really are the Talocan after all. This is very cool.

Makes me wonder if the Takmahl and Yan Jung are really gone too :P

Yeah, lore hounds might want to start putting together all the info available on the Talocan.

EDIT: oh, and if the endgame to all this is player built stargates, then combining Talocan and Sleeper tech to do it makes sense.

Well it looks like I've missed a lot in one day- this is interesting- i'll have to hop on SISI to see the Drifters again :)

As I have no SISI access, could you please do your best to confirm some damage numbers and whether or not they really DO have a superweapon-esque attack once you deplete their shields?

These things sound monstrously strong, to the point that my corp mates just aren't believing the stated damage outputs of these Drifters.

So much excitement right now, but perhaps interestingly enough, this question now holds the most intrigue for me;

''Sleepers working with Talocan... WHY!?''

The Drifter Battleships now have the logo, their Lux Kontos turrets, and are even better looking.

Also, the structures have a matching shader to them now.
