You might want to be a bit more specific about what you want.

Most likely is authenticated sign ups and user management, using TEA/SMF.

Are you also looking for group management (where members of forum groups get added to Slack groups)?

Slightly bad news, looking at the Slack API docs, I can't see any way of doing the first one properly. You can do automatic invites, with a hit of hackyness: https://levels.io/slack-typeform-auto-invite-sign-ups/

There's no obvious way of removing a user's access through the API.

You can accept this and consider the main public channels insecure. Then you use groups to do everything (including one that holds all regular members from SMF).

As an extra note: there is no way to have slack use your SMF account to sign in. You will need a separate password.
