Stealing secure containers - possible or not?

Hi all,

Since few days I play with miners in Molden Heath, mostly in Teonusude (0.6 sec). Some of them mine into normal cargo cans so I just steal whatever is inside and then play hide and seek with reinforcements if they call for any and if they are eager enough to chase me around celestials. Yesterday I managed to **** one miner enough to go full aggro on me, I was happy I could finally test my weird fitted rifter even though his fit was rather weak. To be honest little bit earlier I got too bold and lost my indy when trying to snatch ore and getting into warp took me too long, but whateva - that's part of fun.

Now I started to wonder if it is possible to snatch whole secured container instead of just emptying normal cargo cans. I googled this topic but all info I could get were threads from 2007/2008 and I suspect something could change in this matter.

Anyhow, info I found says that if container is not anchored I could steal it into cargo in my indy and anchoring is not possible in systems above 0.8 (which would means in Teonisude I would have to be lucky enough to find unanchored can).

Anybody can confirm how does it look now?

If the can is not anchored you can "scoop to hold." Then just take it back to base and repackage it to receive the contents. I used to do this whenever I needed some more GSC's. Just fly around >0.8 and go can collecting.

I managed to scoop a secure can (well, at least the owner thought it was "secure") and its entire contents in Algogille (Sec 0.9) yesterday. So yes, you can’t anchor secure cans in 0.8 to 1.0 systems and there contents are free game Big smile
