I had a thing recently I had to share, not very special but non the less.

There was a worm and I hadn't fought them before. I came in an algos, it took 10 minutes of kiting at almost maximum view range before he engaged and I died, next I put a tristan with two active hardened and I still somehow instapoped.

So finally I get out a vexor, he isn't so sketchy towards me because I've died twice now. So he again sends his augmented drones out (not sure if augmented, but it was the expensive ones) so I dual web one and start killin it, it covers the loss of both my ships so I won the isk war. Next I go for the other drone.

I vaguely remember the last bit, but he came 8000m close (probably to fetch his other drone) and I overheated my webs and hit approach with prop mod. Now a scram instead of a disruptive would've settled the deal but instead when he slowed I turned off overheat. Now overheated might have slowed him enough, but he skimmed out of range and sped off.

I could have killed a "probably" faction maybe even deadspace frigate with the looks of those drones and the fact he never wanted to come that close, makes me want to get out there again and I had sweat afterwords.

Also bringing the fact you can lul people into a sense of safety with the loss of a few relatively cheap ships. I have had many close calls where I lost on pvp epicness, but I'd like to read some other people's stories just as much as I like telling mine. Do share on yours.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Never even knew that could happen.

I have had my Gila brought into structure twice by other Gila pilots.

The first time I was down to about 15% structure and got away, because the other guy capped out and lost his scram on me.

With the second guy I managed to get away with 38% structure by aligning out and overheating my MWD. I was lucky he had a disruptor.

Then, like you, I saw a shiny ship I had never fought before - a Garmur. Whenever my Infiltrators would land a hit they would totally wipe away his shields. But then he would ASB right back up to full shields. My drones couldn't hit consistently enough, and he slowly nibbled away at my shields. Not sure if a flight of 4 unbonused light drones would have helped me at all in that situation. My RLMLs weren't hitting much either, I only had Fury missiles with me. Oops. I tried getting him caught up on structures in the area, I think that is the only reason I managed to get any hits in at all. I had his armor wiped out and he held on with just a sliver of structure, and his newly reformed shields thanks to his ASB. I tried slingshotting a bunch and overheating my MWD to get away. I was paying attention to the heat damage on my MWD... but not so much my shield modules. Damn MWD burnt out my invuln and one of my shield extenders. lol. Needless to say, my shields started dropping a bit faster. Eventually I popped, gave a GF in local, and was reminded how terrible I am at this game.

Every fight I've lost was an extremely close call that suddenly wasn't.

Large rig, 2005 Daredevil has seen hull many times. Of course with her, if I don't see hull, I didn't try hard enough.

I once put up a sell-order way under the actual price. Just as I submitted the order I saw it was like 50% under the estimated avg...

Luckily it was just a few ISK higher than the highest buy-order. I sat out the 5 min. timer, longest 5 min. of my life! I edited the price to be .01 ISK below the lowest sell-order (excluding mine ofc) and luckily no one had bought it within those 5 minutes and 3-4 seconds. Occasionally I'm still having nightmares about this...

One time in Madirmilire, in my Providence with 3.6b of cargo on board. Was manually flying from Jita to Amarr and I survived a gank there. They used battleships against me but I survived with 12k structure left. They only needed one or two more people and I'd have been dead.

It was very scary.

I was once on a nuggie merlin roam with my corp. We were camping a gate when a fleet of red zealots and proteus suddenly appeared. I was in the wrong spot after we killed a pod, and was locked almost instantly by them. So I started burning down out of our bubble to the gate my fleet ran to, then I heartbreak, I was scrammed. My MWD shut down I attempted to slow boat away from them watching my shields almost break into armor, when suddenly I got out of scram range fired up my MWD and somehow got out of the bubble and away without breaking into armor. To this day I don't know how I got away, but I am thankful I did.

I leroyed into a lowsec pipe in a ASB cyclone. A large t3 camp on the otherside. Cooked everything, burnt back to gate. Got out with 3 structure. Not 3%, 3. I took a screen shot of it somewhere. XLASB for the win.

Getting back in POS with two burned out reps and 2 hull HP left on my ship was beyond a doubt the closest call I ever had.

most of mine arn;t close. I'm usually dead by then, i have had a few good escapes so i'll post them.

Back in the 49-u battle's between IAC vs. FiX and MC, my alliance BoS was going to get space in querious when it fell. The orignaly plan from IAC was for us to take 49-u. So i had deployed the correct pos' to take sov in 49-u, but not enough fuel. I woke up the next day to 7 large towers crying for fuel. So i grabed my trusty badger II fit 2 WCS, and raced to 49- to see what it needed (note this was before fuel blocks) I entered the 49-u border system (i forget the name) coming from FAT- and there is a small MC gate camp on the gate. I say "**** it" (note i always say **** it, its why i die so much) and jumped in. I ran to my pos' listed the fuels i needed and ran back out. When i hit the gate camp, they did not have enough points so i got away. Made ti fat, grabbed fuel, ran back, there was a guy on the other side of the original MC camp, he too did not have a point, blew past him. Fed a tower.. and went for more fuel. Needless to say i blew past MC 5 times before thet FINALLY got me. PoS' were all fueled, as last trip was going home.

After apocaryto, my corp was one of the first to move to WH's. one night i was running fuel back to the wh in a orca, when i left my hole went 50%, so i got fuel, on the way back i ran right into a hole camp. The bubble was slight off, so i again said **** it, and burned towards the hole while spaming corp and ts for help. i was at about 80% armor when i reached the hole and jumped through. As soon as i loaded i see the "oh no are you stuck?" message, and laughed my ass off as the hole closed.

I was doing asset clean up in low sec. I had a orca fitted with 2 stabs. and was hauling 3b in cargo. I had to leave an island HS and go into 3 ls to get out. Classic me i said "meh **** it" and rand for it. i got to the islan with no issues, loaded up and headed out. first ls was clear. second had a guy in it, on the outbound gate. i jumped, he jumped. I decloaked and he targets and starts shooting. my shield went to 80% then... i got webbed. Instant warp. Laughed my ass off.

Finally, was n a freighter moving 10b in moon goo and wormhole loot. Jumped into a .5 and saw suscide gankers. Sighed and again said **** it, started to spead up to warp, noticed a mac getting ready to bump me... waited for the bump.. boom insta warp. He just hit me at the correct angle that off i went, was awesome.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

Several years ago, deep in Wormhole space.

We engaged one of the major WH corporations in an adjacent wormhole. We under-estimated their numbers and were in some serious trouble, so I warped in an Archon to give us a bit of a force multiplier. We were still so heavily outneuted or outdamaged that we kept losing ships one by one, despite having Triage support. After my first Triage cycle, the battle was obviously lost, but I was still in the middle of a blob of hostile t3 cruisers with a full house of tackle and EWAR on my overview.

I obviously wasn't going to go anywhere anytime soon, so I reactivated Triage, popped a booster and gave the armour repairers some much needed heat. Our ships still kept popping one by one, but I and some subcapitals barely made it trough those five minutes. As the cycle ended, I realized that the enemies had not yet figured out that I was already out of Triage, so I hit warp and started screaming for webs on comms.

Like a saving angel, a heroic neut Dominix appears out of nowhere, burning towards me with her hull ablaze and every relevant module overheated to hell and beyond. The webs land just as the enemies begin to figure out what is about to happen, but the Archon instantly enters warp and flies away to freedom. The corporation we fought that day swore they would come get the capital kill I denied them, but that Archon still flies to this day, despite several other close calls.

My closest fight was domi vs domi many years ago. Mine was hull tanked, his was active tanked. By the time he exploded my structure had gone from 80k to 256hp

I once won a fight and then tried to loot the field... in an abaddon with no prop mod and 5/8 burnt out guns.

Fought a CNR + t1 logi cruiser, I had t1 ammo and never rigged my geddon. will say yay scorch logi cruiser went poof, but with t1 multi I had the CNR in hull as I was in hull, and I ended up going down.

probably my most favorite close call was on a drunk roam in a thrasher, found another thrasher off a 0.0 gate, we MWD at eachother and well, I don't exactly remember, but he beat me, I assume the main reason was I cheaped out on rigs and had damage rigs, where he had tank rigs, which are what I would put on there, but I was being cheap.

hmm, trying to think if I ever had a close call where I won Shocked
