Let me see if I understand.
I want to buy a character steps are:

1) Send the money to the character that is being sold.
2) It transfers the character to my account.
3) if they do not transfer the character the money back to my account?

Sorry for my english.

I dont play EVE much any more so have decided to quit all together.I have found someone in EVE whom I would like to give my 2 mains to. I have already contracted all assets to him. Is there a quick process (that is allowed) for just handing over characters. I cant see the point of selling them when I wont need the isk.

No. An account has to be active for a character to be transferred to or from it.

Yes, that is correct.

The only requirement is for you to pay CCP the transfer fees to transfer a character from your account to your friends account.
I would advise though to open a thread in Character Bazaar stating that A. It is a private sale and B. your character is transferred to someone else's account and let your friend confirm in it. This leaves a paper trail to point to so your friend can legitimately claim that he can not be held accountable for actions by that character prior to the 'sale'....Blink

The total transfer procedure takes ten hours.

Hi quick noob question,

If I want to sell a char but I have subbed for a year, does the remaining sub time transfer with the char? If it does, can I include that extra time in the price? If it doesn't, does this now empty account act as an active account in which I can by a new char in (with the remaining time now applying to that new char)?

Thanks in advance.

The subscription time is on the account and not the char. If you sell the char you still have the account paid for and you can buy another char on that account.
Hope this is clear enough.

Question: Am I correct in assuming that it is not possible to transfer a character from an inactive account to an active one?
Ie. both accounts need to be active.

You can also find a small FAQ on the account services page detailing some transfer questions.

Also I get a 404 on this link.

Try this: Character Transfer

You will find a link there "Frequently Asked Questions" it says:

Quote:

Q. Why do I have to pay for transferring my character?

A. As your character is your identity in EVE the transfer of such an identity needs to be limited. Identity hopping and alternate character abuse are immersion breakers in any virtual world; this is why CCP has chosen to limit this as much as possible. It is clear that some players wish to donate their characters to their friends so we want to keep this possibility open. The surest way to prevent abuse of this feature is to have credit card records backing the transfer. All abuse/hacking/exploitation of this feature will be treated as credit card fraud.

Q. I have suspended my account and I can't transfer a character from that account, why is that?

A. To prevent possible exploit your account needs to be in active state, i.e. subscription is paid for. This is to prevent assets on frozen, banned or otherwise suspended accounts from being transferred.

Q. Why does my character have to be in an NPC corporation to be transferred?

A. Being in a player corporation is a serious commitment. There is no way for CCP to verify that you are transferring your character with the consent of your fellow corporation members. To transfer such a character you need to first resign from your corporation, after the transfer the character can reapply for the corporation and the corpmates then have the option of evaluating if they choose to reaccept the character under the changed circumstances.

Q. Why does my character have to be 14 days old or more to be transferred?

A. Transferring a character that is less than 14 days old makes little sense. This limitation is put in place mainly to prevent accidental transfers of wrong characters.

Hope it helps <3

Hi,

Say I want to buy a character. Then I of course make a WTB thread.
After that, if I agree upon an isk price for someones character via evemail, does the character that is to be sold still have to post? Maybe even a separate thread?

My apologies if this info is in here somewhere, but I couldn' t find it.

"The character being sold must be in an NPC corporation at the time of posting, and for the entire duration of the sale/auction thread being active."

What are you trying to prevent/achieve with this rule? Is there a better way?

I'm surely not the only one who finds it a massive inconvenience... Having to drop corp really limits a characters utility, especially for those of us who suffer the ongoing of POS mechanics and the legacy code.

well if you put any kind of thought in it you can think of some things that it prevents, for one impersonation and or stealing of assets from set corp comes to mind. Also if you are intending on selling the character then you commit to it rather than putting your toes in the water so to speak. if you intend on selling then you make the character as fresh as can be.

This might only be me misreading it. I can auction/WTS multiple chars at once, but I'm only allowed to transfer one at a time, correct? Assuming they would sell at the same time.

Thanks,

create a NEW api for eveboard and the problem should be fixed

If the account is NOT subscribed, the API could be "broken" and it seem that all skills in queue have been finished although the queue has been stopped after 3 days of expiry.

In other words: if you start Capital Ships 5 today, you account will expire tomorrow you will train the skill for around 4 days and it will be stopped.
Eveboard will say, you are still training Cap Ships 5 :)

Hi can someone advise me please, I want to transfer one of my characters from one of my accounts to another, after he is transferred I want him in the same corp he is in now so does he need to leave corp and join NPC prior to transfer still or can everything remain how it is? thanks

Also does jump fatigue transfer with a character? if so surely the seller must inform the buyer prior to a deal being done?

So, I'm trying to get this straight - if I sell this character, then someone will transfer ISK to this character. I then have 24 hours to transfer the character to that persons account.

Do I transfer the isk from this char to my main before or after I begin the transfer of character? Does it happen automatically?

Thanks.
