Snowboarding/skiing at Fanfest 2015, Wednesday March 18th

I arrive around noon on Wednesday and can catch up if I don't make the transport

Just so we are clear, this is not an official event so there is no "transport" to the location.
People will have to organize and rent a car together, but we seem to have plenty of people so I don't think that should be a problem :)

Im sure I could hitch a ride with someone. Honestly im a little surprised its not "official" just for the fact that ccp could record damning video of pilots attempting to ski

Yeah, we can start making plans for that when it gets closer to Fanfest Smile

It could be kind of tricky to have this as an official event because you never know what the weather will be like and if the ski area will be open. It's just an idea I got 2 years ago so I just asked people to join me on the slopes and have fun together Smile

For anyone who is interested, it's worth knowing that in 2013 I could not find anyone in Reykjavik or at the slopes who would hire out ski clothing. Boots, goggles and ski's are all available for hire, but no one seemed to hire ski pants, jackets or gloves, you're expected to bring your own, so if you're coming from somewhere where it never snows either find someone ahead of time who can lend you snow proof gear or budget approx $AU700 to buy the gear in Reykjavik.

If you know of someone who will rent this gear please let me know!

I asked around and was told about this place: Gangleri Outfitter... looks like you can rent this stuff from there.

Would people be interested in paying a small fee to get a bus there?
I have not contacted any bus companies to check what they can offer, but if people are interested I could do that.

I'm in for the Wednesday. Probably going a bit far for skiing and football on the same day.

Will likely have transport available too (rental car) so can give a bunch of people a lift if required.
