Hello everyone, first of all let me say that this isn't a corp recruitment thread. We've had lot's of people asking to join Mighty Enterprises, to make it clear, you can only get into Mighty Enterprises is you are refereed or selected.

With that out the way it's time to get to the good stuff! Big smile

Mighty Enterprises proud to be offering free MAX mining boosts fleet in select systems to everyone with good or higher standings to us. (Fleet system can be found in our channel MOTD)
You can get these standings by joining our ingame channel and being assigned them (every NPC corporation has been assigned good standings already).

As you may have noticed there are quite a few mining groups popping up recently but we are one of the best and here is why:

  • Boosts flowing 23/7.
  • Experienced and effective organisers. The fleet and the services we offer will only improve with time.
  • Anti wardec precautions allowing for us to continue providing you with mining boosts even if Mighty Enterprises acquires a wardec.
  • (We were recently victorious against CODE in a war they said they would never end.)
  • Friendly casual atmosphere with no commitments.
  • Ore buy back scheme for those that want to sell to us.

If this is something that interests you join our ingame channel ‘ Mighty Fleet ‘ to get involved, everything you need to know about fleet can be found in the MOTD.

Come get higher yields, faster cycle times and more ISK!

Like with everything in eve there will be people looking to molest your pretty corpse.

We still advice caution and that you use the appropriate techniques to avoid falling victim to one of these assaults.

CODE. whole alliance should be assigned terrible standing.

Publicly advertising that you have an orca/booster ship sitting in a system, probably unattended, is a great way to get your stuff blown up.

Just sayin.

You can't give boosts if you're docked. Otherwise, there is no "safe" place in Eve ;)

You do realize you're basically telling every awoxer in the tri-region area that you're recruiting and that your standards are super lax, right?

I'm not recruiting anyone.

Public mining fleets. Why don't they exist? The answer I'm usually met with is that it attracts gankers.

there you go, you just naswered your own question.

This may be true but what's so different about that and Incursion public groups> Gankers still prey on them too...!
Not so much, incursion fleets are armed and fire back.

I meant that I will be mining with you , except that when is not defined yet because that I have no planned schedule for it yet.

I hope in the next few months (including this one).

Also , it's safer not to publish when here.

And yes, I may be able to bring 3 or 4 mining pilots with their own mining ships.

The fleet is offering boosts.

Miners would go about mining as they would normally. There shouldn't be any more worry for ganking than if you were mining out of fleet. But the location of the fleet will be restricted to the fleet MOTD.

Sorry if this is garbled/long winded, I was just hammering at the keyboard while eating dinner :P

For the most part, public mining fleets don't exist for the very reason you said. Gankers. Others have tried this before (like Astral Services) and no one does it anymore for a reason. Yes, incursion fleets/mission runners have to worry about ganks as well, but with one major difference. Those people are in combat ships that can shoot back.

I've thought about this quite a bit, as I had plans of doing something similar before I got out of mining. But for now let's assume you're not just baiting people so you can gank them yourself.

1. Don't stay in the same system. A solo miner has two choices: mine alone and *maybe* get ganked, or join the mining fleet that's in the same place everyday and certainly get ganked. If you're in one system, day in and day out, you're throwing sharks in the kiddy pool. You would be best served moving around frequently. I wouldn't even be in the same system more than once a week. It certainly won't stop all ganks, but just makes it slightly harder to find you. Which brings me to:

2. Be "public" but not THAT public. Don't broadcast a public fleet, and certainly don't post about it in the forums. Contact and invite miners individually, to help keep the rif-raf out altogether. Again, this will only make you >slightly< harder to find, but also means:

3. You need to be constantly contacting new people. 99% of new miners will either leave the game, or move on to more lucrative things. In order to keep a working fleet, someone needs to be constantly contacting the NEW miners coming into the game to let them know there is an option. Which means:

4. You need more people. If it's just you, and you're only on during certain times, it's not really helpdul to anyone. If it's just you, and your AFK Orca is sitting in one system all day (which means anyone can scan you down and gank/bump you into non-existence), that system may very well be completely empty of roids in a very short time, making the non-moving fleet useless. You would also need someone TRUSTWORTHY to manage the fleet at all times. To avoid all of this would mean hiring additional people that can all fly orca's and convincing them it's worth their time. Which is the problem:

5. It's not worth your time. IF (and that's a big IF) every person mining in the fleet sold you 100% of their ore (which won't be much, because you'll have nothing but ventures and retrievers; let's face it, any serious miner will have their OWN fleet) it would take you weeks/months to cover the cost of ONE Orca. Add additional hired people to the mix, and you'd almost be better off solo mining yourself.

6. There's several more points here, but I'm going to stop. Basically the time required and the logistics of the operation are just not cost efficient. Not even a little.

From the social side of it, it's a great way to meet new people (assuming they aren't AFK mining) and doing some recruiting for your corp. But, as this is Eve, some people would love nothing more than to rain on your parade. Which then leads ganked miners to complaining about YOU, and ruins what reputation you have.

Please note, I'm not trying to dissuade you or anything. If I was in a closer system I'd even be willing to help a bit. But ultimately points #5 and 6 were the reason I bailed on this idea.

Thanks for the response. A few of your points I do have answers to, however to limit all the information made public I decided not to post them in here.

The only problem I cannot find a resolution to is as you mentioned, maintaining a continuous flow of miners.

I solved this issue by just building my own mining fleet. I had three miners and an orca before I stopped mining. I would occasionally give boost to people I knew but ignored requests from others.

Gankers have made miners paranoid so any offer of a fleet from a stranger would most likely thought of as a trap.

Don't let the haters get to you. Your idea is a good one. Solo PvP and solo pve are the same. They are less successful. You get more done in a group.

The fleet has been running for two days so far and we have had quite a few people getting involved.

We've bought 200m worth of ore so far and people seem keen to join in whenever they are mining.

We still have plenty more room for you and your friends!

I've been offered to join these mining ops as well and have accepted. Very useful for players who only have a little time for EVE, but like to keep in touch, very fair prices - very nice people Smile
