I am currently training an alt to serve a role as a Remote Repair with medium DPS and tank abilities. My basic understanding is that the highs are used for a mix of cap transfers and remote repair modules. Mids filled with cap mods and lows with tank. Drones do some DPS, but the main role is to support the target player with repairs without the massive cost and risk of a logi.

I can play pyfa warrior till end times but I would like to hear about in game experiences from those who have done this. Namely for anoms in nullsec and missions in highsec.

Also fit suggestions would be great if you have any.

The Dominix works great for what you want. But your going to have to keep close to it as there's not much range on it's reps.

Also if you can cap chain with it you can free up Rig slots for Sentary dmg rigs and mid slots for Omin's.

In fact just get two Dominix's you will spit out between 900-1000 dps on your drones.

Edit: Also you mite get more help in here if you change up your wording alittle. We have alot of WoW haters here.

Is it a rock point a lazer at it and profit. Is it a ship point a lazer at it and profit. I dont see any problems here.

Hey not a bad idea! Especially as my main has maxed out armor and shield skills now.

Would mean a great deal of switching between two screens but sounds like a great way to get both characters into good training for drones which is of course relevant in PVP.

I use my domi alt for exactly this purpose, that is to tank for or rep my main. I use more reps than I have cap for but don't set up a cap chain for it. Only those reps that are needed are turned on. As for weapons I've only got an agro gun and drones on the domi. The drones generally get used to a mop up frigs if they get used at all. The energy transfer array is there 'because'. One thing that might get put on is a remote hull rep but mission damage is almost never that severe.

Going by memory, this is what my alt flies. With good cap skills you can run three of four armor reppers at once.

where do you mission? I'll come help.... Pirate

rr domis have been around for years and have been used in varying tactics to sustain on the battlefield. Just get a tengu like every other missioner/wormholer and get some implants and faction mods along with maxing out damage for heavy missiles and do 866 dps and be a happy clam so i can blow you up for fat loots...

actually, as been pointed out, the Domi is a good RR with tanking and dmg-support capabilities. This is why I chose it over any logistic for mission running.

my fitting currently looks like this:

High:
2x large meta 4 shield transfer
1x large meta 4 energy transfer
1x drone link (cant remember name)
1x tractor beam

mids:
5x cap recharger t2 or 4x CR and 1x AB

lows:
1x large armor repper t2
2x EANM t2
2x specific armor hardener
1x explosive hardener (because Im lazy)

rigs:
3x CCC

this works very nicely in combination with my abaddon/NM (o/c for abaddon it's 2x large remote armor reppers instead of shield transfer).

turn on modules as needed, the tank can run stable if **** hits the fan and I usually need only one of the RR mods.

drones are a mix of rat-specific or sentries, depending on missions

Thanks for that fit. It really looks to be worth a try. Especially if I want to try flying the Raven in missions again.

Tho I am leaning more towards the 2x spider domi idea atm. The DPS may be a bit lower. Yet I will never have to fear losing the ship unless I do something absolutely stupid.

I personally hate fitting anything but ommi resists tho because otherwise I have a glaring hole in my tank that an enemy can exploit. I was once saved from a nullsec gank because I had plugged the EM hole on the drake I had. So I am thinking passive resists unless that outright fails to work.

Looking at Evemon it does appear I need a month of training on my alt before going into 4s with the least risk yet I will have plenty of time to practice this with Lvl3s. It is going to absolutely suck not flying the noctis for fat lootz (lol ya right) yet going through 4s faster and beefing up my drone skills will help me when I return to nullsec (For those who are confused btw this is a alt not my main)

I have been wanting to fly the domi for a LONG time. Yet I have not had an excuse to train up the massive drone skills to use it effectively until now. Thanks everyone!

Just a heads up I tried this under Sisi.

The good news I only need a good cap fit that leaves room for resists and a DCU for a 75-78 percent ommi resist tank. With that I can power 2 large meta 4 remote armor repairs with the assistance of 3x Cap transfers with good remote cap skillz. That leaves room for a agro railgun.

It is a beastly tank. I only worry about any kind of neuting. However that is a risk to any craft anyway and only one craft would seriously need to run 2 remotes at once anyway.

DPS is better than flying my drake alone but not much ATM. This is due to my poor drone skills that will receive multiple months worth of training. I dont expect 900 DPS but If I can get it into the 600s I will be happy.

I still have mass testing SP on sisi to spare so over the next week i am going to slowly raise up the levels and see what is priority.

Thanks for the GREAT info about the 2X domi spider!

The domi is the swiss army knife of eve. You can pretty much tackle all PVE content (with the exception of some 10/10 plexes) with RR domis, you just need to bring more for harder content.

If you are going to go this route though make sure to train up t2 sentry drones as soon as possible. T2 sentries give you alot of the benefits of guns along with the DPS bonus from the ship.

Thanks!

I am looking forward to seeing how much punishment my 2 RR domis can handle.

I assume you are speaking of 2x Remote reps with 3x cap transfers when you speak of everything but 10/10 type tanking?

Thanks for the info about Tech 2 sentries. I will indeed go for them as soon as possible.

Just be careful about Guristas ECM and watch your range to your partner and you'll have LOTS of room for error with even a half-decent setup. Of course, as you get more skilled, you'll find that one character will be just as effective as the two spider-Domis combined, but it's an excellent low-sp setup.

Glad to hear that!

I also managed to convince a family member to pick up EVE and is training to be the third ship in the mission running domi fleet. Looking forward to the fun!
