Hello good people of General Discussion.

We all love scandals and / or things that inspire this community to unite us in internet forum anger.

History highlights that over the last few years we've had our fill of drama bombs that have "rocked" the community to the core.

Whether it's been player driven or CCP shooting themselves in the foot - it's been a rollercoaster ride for sure.

I'm going to resist temptation to make any predictions or speculations.

That said, what does the Community think?

Genuinely interested to hear community perspective as to whether this year will be a journey free of turbulence or if it'll be another scream if you want to go faster on the big dipper?

I'm optimistic the playerbase and CCP have now reached a plateau where we've all leant from our past mistakes and 2015 will be a smooth ride this year. Blink

If by smooth you mean stagnation that makes the pond ripple-less; I agree. Only a handful of the really dynamic players still play. We've been over run with two-dimensional thinkers. By the way...what drama? The past two years have been real yawners. Isn't the complaint with the Blue Donut that it makes the game DULL?

Nice try, though. You can invent drama as you go, I guess.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

Tell me the OP is referring to the couple of brats that got banned 'cause they couldn't keep their Beavis & Butthead commentary to themselves - drama. I guess it's true. In the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I am referring to monoclegate, CQ melting graphics cards, $1000 dollar jeans, Mittens at fanfest, Somerblink and E1, among other things. All things that have happened since i started playing this game. My OP was in essence to say that if the eve playerbase and the ccp can get through 2015 without a scandal or community rage, then that would be a good thing

At the same time i'm asking community opinion as to whether between the playerbase and CCP, we can?

I'm with Boom Boom. We've all been through a lot together. Let's declare intergalactic peace, let bygones be bygones, and spend the rest of this video game's lifespan holding hands and singing campfire songs.

As long as no bad apples start violating the Code and spoil everything for everyone then 2015 promises to be a great year for EVE.

Big smile

If this "amity" occurs, it will be because the forums are practically dead relatively to what they used to be.

Don't worry, between sov getting hard capped at a ridiculously small number per alliance, supers getting deleted and profanity filter avoidance leading to 2 warnings -> permanent ban there will be enough rabble and overreactions to fill an entire week of breaking news on Fox.

I think the older game mechanics allowed for greater stories to unfold. I mean where something as simple as can flip could cause consternation on a grand scale.

With the awox toggle looming and endless changes to protect people things will be more difficult for us naughty people to spread our love throughout EVE.

Still... the naughty crowd will adapt, longtime "friendships" will be scammed of everything, but you are right. Less has been happening.

You can always guarantee there's an EVE player or two out to create serious internet drama

I see newbie friendlyness going too far. Do it too much and you kill the Eve spirit.
In-game drama would probably ensue if CCP continues the 0.0 changes started with Phoebe. The big shake down needs to happen.
