First I have to say that ccp did a almost perfect job with wormholes. That is even for me some paranoia scary shite. Tough 0.0 has still its problems.

Because 0.0 is almost unpopulated except for a very few ratting and outpost systems. It's so damn easy for the inhabitants to spot a intruder and dock up or warp to a save spot.

So I suggest to give 0.0 space the wh treatment. Remove local in all systems but add a hackackable pos module re-enabling local. Successfully hacking the module disables local for this system for 24 hours.

So 0.0 would get tons more unfriendly and would quite fit the mood of such a place much better while still being a bit less hardcore than wh space.

Much as I agree with you that local is a blight on humanity, come on man. Did you really think that nobody had suggested this before? In the correct forum?

Returning player with no likes and wrong forum section using a flame worthy topic. Do I bother to check the post history?

Edit: For those thinking about this seriously - there are gates. So, every alliance will just have a more solid network of scouts on those gates.
Then you have neighbours, politics, so all the social rules will compensate for a lack of local.

This is a "I wanna hot drop but can't seem ta do it effectively now like the other kids" complain to me.

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Post history is small and full of garbage so no need to check it out.

At least more scouts means more effort on the part of defending alliances and more subs for CCP. Just imagine what covops ships could do without local indicating their presence; un-dscannable recons would be fearsome things, for example. Scouts are fallible, too, whilst local never makes mistakes. The opportunities for divergent gameplay coming from this may not be entirely groundbreaking, but local is free intel for no effort. Automation isn't allowed in any other aspect of the game, why here?

If you removed local the game would grind to a halt as no one would undock.

every time we post in a thread waiting to be locked, an angel gets his wings.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

No one ever docks in J-Space except Thera.

IBL4 anyway. Just another remove local thread (which would be fine and people would still play happily).

As a courtesy to other forum users, please search to see if there is a thread already open on the topic you wish to discuss. If so, please place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forums needlessly, causing good feedback and ideas to be lost. Please keep discussions regarding a topic to a single thread.

In addition to the redundancy, this is also posted in the wrong forum. If you'd like to make a suggestion that has not already been offered, please do so in the Features & Ideas Discussion board.
