I have seen 'repair tool' referenced in a couple of threads. It is not in C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE or any subfolders. It is not in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE or any subfolders.

I am getting the Verification Failure showing modified, damaged or corrupt files in \bin.

* me thinks it's time to rollback to Win XP 32 *

Filename is repair.exe (latest is stamped Monday Dec 12).
It displays v3.35 when you run it.

The last several older iterations has the ability to auto-update itself (basically a simple process of download & delete) but it isn't clever enough to handle broken downloads. CCP didn't separate the repair.exe update portion from the repair, instead choosing to make them contiguous. Ease of use, yes ... but if something breaks in the middle, then you don't know what broke.

Another very simple dinking thing that they didn't do is to put a bloody proper version numbering on .exe package. So you're forever wondering which version you had (without running the tool or comparing digital signatures).

Download from CCP :

Note: If you know *exactly* the version you want to download, modify the CDN path from "329" to let's say "335" for the latest version.

Thanks for the link Sturm. 335 is the correct version. Ran the tool but it didn't solve my problem. Still get the same Verifiction Failure window.
Oh well.... only subbed for 1 month just in case something like this happened and I have better things to do than waste my time troubleshooting problems with a game. cya

Was there any output from the Repair Tool? Rather than have you disappear off into the ether, I'd prefer to fix whatever the problem is Smile

Pro-tip: use http://pastebin.com/ for uhm.. pasting text.
Not another trash file hosting which ask you to wait one minute and input captcha just to download chunk of text.

Could you try running the Repair Tool from the command line? Try "repair.exe --safemode". This should stop it relying upon the cache incase it's become corrupted in some fashion.

Forgot about the 1 minute wait. Sorry about that. I will use pastebin in future or try to edit out anything that looks like HTML.
Thanks Sarmatiko.

Well... I threatened to roll-back to WinXP 64 and I did. Built a whole new box with a better vid card too. EVE runs great now and no update or Log On issues. The old box is sitting on the workbench and waiting to be converted into a media server. Not going to bother with Win7 any more. What a POS that OS is!

After reading a few threads with problems like the one I had, I think that Win7 just has a few problems when it comes to running EVE.

Sorry I didn't get to run repair.exe --safemode. Thank you for your input Atropos. /appreciated :)
