EDIT: I haven't confirmed any bit of that sentence myself as I don't do anything on the test server.

Well, it's a blue shield. As we all know, blue shields fully recharge after a cooldown if they are not continuously damaged. So maybe polarized weapons permanently damage them instead of allowing a full recharge.

From what source is this knowledge of a blue shield taken? I have not heard of them before, neither in mechanics and lore.

You know, I was thinking of Halo. I wanted to say "Did you get that from Halo?" but I didn't want to be snarking.

You are right though. Cool

They do have an Academy of Aggressive Behaviour...
Maybe instead of sharing technology (they already did that, not sure if they are happy with the results) they'll enslave us...

There is a future... where miners and gankers mine Veldspar together to please our new masters...
The only open question is: Will Chribba be our foreman or their slaverhound?

Can't it be both?

Hey all, I did my best to combine the two pics that were linked in this thread.

Anyway, how do I make a Jove BS spawn?

I've read a few pages back, but I haven't found the secret to making a Jove BS spawn. I'm on Sisi with my gang, and have been for a couple hours, lurking at an Unidentified Structure. Killed maybe four sets of waves + reinforcements, but no Jove BS.

I heard that there was some "extra-shield" coming with this beauty? It looks more like a organic coating to me if I look at the picture...
Edit: I have not heard anyone from ccp actually refer to this baby as Jove and I really do not think it is. The Jove had better ship designs fitting to their stations.
What if that is something entirely different...the Logo does not fit to any of the known Jove-organisations and why in the world would a artificial intelligence (Sleepers) need a Symbol on their vessels?

If I recall correctly, the description for this vessel describes it as an ancient ship design that has only very recently been put into service.

The leading theory is that this is a ship from the era when the Jove and Sleepers were one and the same, before the Jove disease and before the sleepers become a race of data entities.

It could be one of the following, or a combination of both;

---

- The Jovians have cured their disease, which means they have a larger populace than they do available modern ships, and have partnered with their long-lost relatives, the sleepers, to form fleets of Sleepers and very old Jovian tech.

- The Sleepers have 'woken up', but as with the above scenario, if they were to do so they do not have enough ships to be crewed by living, breathing bodies, and would have to resort to pulling up old hulls and designs to fit their army.

It's also worth pointing out the following;

The fact that the symbol is unlike anything Jovian or Sleeper that we have seen so far is actually a far more worrying idea than the alternative.

If it were just a brand new race then the fact that the symbol is new doesn't really mean anything. Of course it's new, we've never met them before.

But Jovians/Sleepers with a new symbol? That bodes ill. It represents that they have had a changing of either perspective, understanding or knowledge and have banded together under a new symbol to represent this.
Considering it coincides with an invasion of K-Space, I'm fairly certain this isn't the ''Merry Christmas, Presents for all'' Jove Corp.

My last point would be this; To introduce an entirely new race at this point, after such a long, deliberate and drawn out mystery surrounding Jovians, Jovian Space being cut off, Sleepers, Anoikis and now Caroline's Star, would be incredibly unlikely. It's not impossible but it is most likely an evolution of known events and politics, not unknown ones.

Ok. Now i'm scared. This thing has a battle stance of some sort. Top left corner of the picture. Looking like station killer weapon.

Battleship with a DDD? Sounds fitting to the tech level.

That's just one of the turrets it has- it's a new weapon that does 1000 omni damage- and the ship has seven of them on each side.

Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, the Jove symbol is in the top left and right corners while the integral symbol is at the top and bottom.

Someone mentioned that the hull has battle damage on it (which CCP has revealed is what they're trying to do with the next graphical update).

It's possible that with the Jovian stargate network down, possibly an entire system blown up, and a Sansha invasion, that their society has gone into an apocalyptic scenario, from which the Drifter Battleships are fleeing refugees, and Circadians being a 'scout out a new place to set up camp' force.

Really hoping it isnt like its up to capsuleers to "finish them off" Id rather them become another powerful race in New Eden to break the balance of the 4 empires instead of just becoming another irrelevant race that attacks you like the sansha's nation.

Artistically, the ship's silhouette and form are pleasing to the eye. I am guessing much of the ship's detail will come from shaders and environmental interaction via the wonder of PBR. Still, I would lay in more subltle Geigeresque organic details native to Jovian architecture within the normal-map.

Well, interestingly, in my day we used to call Jovians by an entirely different name. Though, I suppose, they might find it rude now. You see they were simpler times, when a man earned what he had by the sweat of his brow. Jovians weren't terribly interested in those things. They had a different way of looking at the world. You could see it in their beady eyes, the way they'd size you up. Then, on occasion, they'd just sit down and whistle a tune.

Yes it was simpler times.
