I want to get some feedback from other players about my male toon being able to wear the woman's clothing. I think it would help the "si fi" aspect of the game.. what do you guys think?

ShockedLol

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

Nerf web strength, Make the blaster Eagle worth using

I think it's a splendid idea, why are clothes locked between sexes, isn't that sexist? in most progressive games you can swap clothing, why not Eve? is Eve behind the times? is there intolerance against wearing another genders clothes still? why can't women wear man suits?

These are dressing questions that need addressing.

Yes yes yes. 90% of the characters are white, skinny, good looking boring balls of **** completely lacking any, well, character. Had WIS come to pass it would have been like walking around in some weird dystopian nightmare.

Eve can be pretty sterile particularly when you're new and don't know anyone, showing info on a dozen identical peeps in local during an idle moment isn't going to help with that feeling.

Eh, why not? Call it weird if you want ('cause I know someone is bound to cry "FREAK!"), but who's really by definition "normal" anyways? I'm a guy who dresses like a guy, but that doesn't make me normal, just makes me a guy who dresses like a guy. My 2 ISK, anyways.

Besides, I think it could be hilarious in some cases. No offense intended, but imagine being ganked by a guy in high heels...Shocked

This is a good idea.

I would love it if CCP quietly lead the way in gender identity expression in games.

Subtle things at first like allowing both genders to wear traditionally gendered clothing in non-comical ways would be great!

I appreciate that you made this post, I was thinking about posting a while ago that tights for male identified avatars would be something that wouldn't be as hard to implement as some of the other gendered clothing.

More people would probably care about what their characters looks like if it was ever seen by other people. What's the point of putting effort into it to look different right now?

For us? Meh, it's for messing about when we're bored. But we're not hugely relevant (beyond NES sales) as we make a choice whether it interests us and use it/ignore it accordingly.

But it is literally the first thing new players do. The problem which this thread (and others) more hopes to help is that many of us find its cookie-cutter nature a pretty disappointing experience and given it's such a prominent part of the NPE that really isn't great.

That and I'd probably buy a dress for trolling our more homophobic population. Maybe a Fedora for Sundays.

Only Gallente should be allowed to cross dress.

On a more serious note, I believe the primary reasoning for it is the difficulty in conforming the clothing to a new body style. The clothes they are making for our characters are not just cloth fabric that they toss onto a mannequin or person, but they are a collection of polygons which must be carefully manipulated and tweaked to conform to the shape of the body. Allowing someone to wear clothing cut for the opposite sex means it won't fit quite right, which is even more difficult to model than a good fit. So perhaps they are more than halving the development resources needed to fit clothing by not allowing cross-dressing.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

That is a good point.

In some other games when you put women's clothing on a man (say a dress), then the man will have breasts.

Yes .. but a female cant wear men's clothing and a male can't wear woman's clothing..I think its a bit discriminating ..
