Was filming a little clip of the svipul on sisi this evening and noticed it had a tendancy to not respond to the mode change commands.

On occasion it would jump from one mode to another without the transition in between - there also didn't seem to be a clear difference between two and three.

confirmed, the switch between speed and sniper mode works, but the ships defensive state appears to be missing.

Also, camera view on the ship while in sniper mode is horribly of center.

To clarify, it looks like defense mode is using speed mode's animation and stance. Switching from defense to sharpshooter mode instantly changes stance with no animation, as well.

Where did you get the hull? Is it seeded in Thera or what?

According to CCP Lebowski, Team TriLambda is already aware of the Svipul's animation woes.

The Svipul, particularly its animation, is still a work in progress. Also, because of the nature of its state-changing, it requires some tweaks to how its bounding sphere and center point are calculated, and that's in progress as well.

Never fear, the ship's getting a lot of attention right now to clean these issues up before it goes live.

Oh nice, so it'll be a good bouncing/decloaking ship then?

Start in speed mode, sleek, fast, aligny-quicky.... then after 8-10k change to the spread-out mode for a larger bounding sphere for better bump/decloakage ability.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Please sort out the thrust in vertical modes. Isn't credible with thrust only at the top - lopsided/wrong.

The model appears to include additional thrusters on the base that were presumably designed for this.
Speed mode would not use these engines so you need much more flame stuff for that What?

The shape and angle of the wingy-bits in vertical mode are designed such that they generate lift to counteract the off-center thrust from the top in a space-gravy environment like Eve's.

Still looks daft. Any chance of a dev comment on this?
