EVEGate: Alliance / Corp webchat?

Would it be feasible under the current iteration of Eve and EVEGate to create a web based client that would allow integrated chat with Alliance/ Corp chat channels in game?

It would be nice to have access too those channels even when we're unable to play the game.

Just a thought.

lets see

IRC
any number of private web based chat tools
teamspeak
steam

now while not delivering what you are asking for specifically, these tools all have one great feature in common

using them does not break eve, whereas having the clusterfuck gang program a feature that doesn't include a wardrobe will most likely render the game unplayable

If they made that, they would have to make all the ingame channels accessible though.

Morganta -
You're correct, none of those do exactly what I'm asking for. A light-weight integrated interaction with one of the primary social aspects of the game. Allowing those outside the game, currently unable to play at that moment, access to their friends and comrades inside the game. Not unlike the way they've allowed EveVoice connections through EveGate.

Eve is played nearly as much out of game as it is in game. Social meta-gaming can be a major part of the Eve experience.

Nyio -
If it's technically feasible, I don't see why not.

Maybe not exactly what OP is talking about - but it's a bit on the way - Linkage

Chribba - What is that? I'm intrigued.
