Dying costs skills?

Hello all...

I just want to confirm the mechanics. When you die, do you lose skills? Do you still require a "proper" clone to avoid that fate? And if so, how do you acquire those clones?

Thanks

The 'high SP player' tax that was clone upgrades have been removed from the game.

You can no longer lose SP through being podkilled. You will, however, immediately cease getting the benefits of any learning implants you had plugged in at the time of death, which may slow future training slightly unless/until you replace them.

Nope,
you likely found old information there about the old clone grades.
Previously you would lose sp upon pod death if you had not paid for a clone with sufficient space in it.
after each death pod death (or if you out grew the clone)you Had to pay for another one.

This is no longer the case.

Currently the only way to lose sp is to die in a Tec 3 cruiser, and only sp relevant to that hull Will be lost.

Just quoting this so that people realize that you still can lose SP, but only in very limited circumstances. If you are flying a T3 cruiser and it gets shot out from under you, you WILL lose SP -- but only from one of the T3 skills.

Other than that, no you don't lose SP when you lose a ship or pod. That was recently removed from the game.

When I finally do make an impact on this universe, it will reverberate across the entirety of it, and no one will be able to truthfully claim they don't know me. - -

Until then, I'll just sit quietly over here, minding my own business...

Rule 1 in EVE searching: Check the date of your source.

Clone grading is a thing of the past for about 2 months now.

So, the only SP loss on death is when you lose a T3 cruiser.

Now if only they'd nerf T3 cruisers slightly and remove the skill loss from those as well ;>
