Hi, i recently released a new version of Eveeye Maps which is capable of drawing chain maps and map in k-space aswell. I would like some feedback at this stage as the program is closing in on beta release. although the mapping is quite solid already.

Please check these images to learn how it works http://imgur.com/a/xDG2y and give it a try at https://maps.eveeye.com/

...so, does it actually do j-space to j-space or just k-k connections?

It is a full functional chain mapper. not a good screenshot combi i chose there. am a marketing genius obviousely :-/ ... looks like this for example: http://i.imgur.com/HAcow4k.jpg + stiched screenshots with some hovers and menues: http://i.imgur.com/Jc8ke6n.jpg

emphasizing this is quite solid but still alpha (means more basic bugs).
i am ready to work and wipe bugs as they come up to get to beta (means nearly no bugs) state.

I like the screenshots so far.

How safe is the mapper and how do we know you are not selling fleet / pilot locations to 3rd parties ? This is always something that worries me.

It's not doing that in beta, that's a function for 2.0.

Simple: you don't.
That's always the risk with 3rd party apps - especially free ones.
I mean look at Tripwire: lots of corps upload their Intel to a free tool from some NPC alt that for some reason gets very strongly supported by that Lazerhawks CEO dude. I wouldn't be overly surprised if there was some stuff going on under the table.
Not saying there is, but... well, this is EVE.

What can i say. I am totally indepenent from anybody within eve. (in RL too, hmm... well there is my wife and kids=). I do this because i love doing it. I do eveeye since 2008 https://imgur.com/a/gF0Ri and this is no 10 year plan to screw anyone.

When someone asks me about security i say that anything on the web is put at risk of being hacked. But the biggest security risk for a corp in eve is a backstabbing corpmate. he got the chain on a plate with no need to hack a website or anything.

I do my very best to make things secure however.

It is true, you can't know for sure, I have tried to find any way to prove you can trust a 3rd party dev but it will require something from CCP. Sadly things like the blink scandal only hurt us other 3rd party devs.

Tripwire is very popular because the product is good enough for the risk and I am very active with supporting it.

This is my main, I am NPC corp because I haven't played EVE in over a year and being in a corp just hurts my rep no matter who I would join. I am frequently in touch with CCP using this character and if there is anyway to prove this is my main please tell me.

Lazerhawks supports Tripwire heavily because I used to fly with them in Lead Farmers back when Tripwire was just a private app for them. Nobody has access to intel in Tripwire except me and it is not easy for me to view it in Tripwire unless you add me to your mask. Try making sense of 25k signatures across 7k accounts.

Cheers Risingson for all the hard work you put into EVEEye - it is something I modeled Tripwire after. Keep up the good work.

You're more likely to have a toon in your corp selling out your locations from your mapper or someone in your corp with a bad/old API selling out your location than you are to have the provider of the website doing it to you
