Piece of humble advice re: running a merc joint - you will probably regret going by this rule. The contract is what makes sure you get paid respectably, and having the money up-front helps you commit to the job. This "honour system" might get you a few extra jobs, but they'll probably be from useless jackasses who refuse to pay up, and you're not really compelled to do a good job for free. And really, if you're doing this for sport, you're not so much mercs as generic ganksmiths who rely on others for their target selection ;p
