Question about Market Orders

Quick question:

When you put up a buy order do you lose any ISK if you cancel the order? I know a certain percent goes into escrow but if you cancel the buy order altogether you don't actually lose any ISK from merely setting up the buy order, correct? How about for sell orders? Does the act of merely setting up either a buy or sell order cost you anything? In other words, can you set as many as you can at will and cancel as you see fit absent any repercussions

You lose your broker fees, but regain any unused funds from escrow.

For example, with my skills and standings, my broker fee at Dodixie 9-20 is 0.24%, and my escrow amount is ~32% (for ease of calculation I will assume it is exactly 32%).

If I place a buy order for 4 A-type Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane for 1 billion ISK each at Dodi 9-20, I will spend 9.6m in broker fees (0.24% of 4b), and have to deposit 1280m into escrow (32% of 4b).

If one fills, I now have 280m in escrow.

If I now cancel the order, that 280m will be returned to me (and I'll still have my one A-type EANM), but I will recieve no compensation for the wasted part of the 9.6m in broker fees.
