I'm from LatinAmerica, with that amount of info (and bear in mind this isn't Africa) you can literally open ungodly amounts of bank accounts in weird countries, fake trust funds, ghost corps and even alter passports backed by a real US persona with a social security number attached to it.

So yea, they going to muder you, slowly.

If I wanted to, I could have a passport with bare regular info stolen from a US tourist here in Panama and make me a brand new gringo passport with my pic on it and do a reasonable amount of evil stuff with it for a couple hundred $$$ (if you pay more you are being scammed by the thief)

It's not like the nigerians want to go to the US anyway, and yes, they will sell that info eventually to someone else and your life will be a living hell.

The basic amount of info they asking is mostly for phoning banks and checking balances. To be honest I once had an issue with a US bank I will not mention and all I had to do was tell them by DoB and account number and other silly stuff ANYONE could have if they had social mined my personal profile.

I canceled a debit card and redirected it to another address for instance.

So yeah, a lot of people think that info is worthless and keep feeding the Nigerian Scam and it remains alive because it's PROFITABLE! I remember reading once in a newspaper the scam was so profitable it even helped fund part of the national economy of Nigeria Shocked

Also, tales of gullible people that got killed in it. The Nigeria Scam is serious business and every once in a while a gringo ends up dead here too in Panama mostly for a passport number or atm card, can't even fathom the magnitude there in Africa of the same action.
