So CSM minutes, apparently ALL ships will be touched on design wise, including chimera

chimera is literally the only carrier i think actually LOOKS like a carrier, aside from maybe the nid/hel. plus its launch ramp reminds me of gundam.

In short if it has to be changed, dont change it too much, i still want to be able to easily recognize it as a CHIMERA afterwards

When they are done with it, it'll have domes full of plants like from "Silent Running" and pools and stuff.

Just kidding.

I don't think you should worry. The recent ships they have added/ redesigned look great. I'm pretty excited on how they will change the looks of them

There are ALOT of ships that they just should not change, so I completely agree with you.

They should touch on the designs, by making the textures more modern and adding more detail to the model (if it would make it look better,
but they definitely just should not go removing key features on well-liked ships.

There was another thread on this, so hopefully CCP actually saw that we like certain ship models, and don't want them changed design-wise.

I'll give my support for the Hel and Niddoggur, and the Chimera which looks pretty good too.

Hopefully it's just the textures, and not a complete redesign. Hopefully.

change to try and make something better when necessary is good.

(Since you're the OP) Is that change to the bottom of one's foot, or were you trying to say "soul"?
I guess if one doesn't believe there IS a soul, it's kinda hard to use that euphamism.
Necessity is the mother of invention. However, necessary is often a judgement call which puts you back to square one.
Life is change. It differs from the rocks. Though, rocks change, too, continually until they become the sand and soil.

I like - It's their game. They can do what they like with it. If we don't like it (as customers)
we can always shop somewhere else.

PS Truisms are easy to come up with, no?

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Maybe they just want to make it a bit bigger to not be mistaken for a battleship?

You seem to have not seen many of them. Particularly the new blackbird/falcon that looks like our graphics rendering messed up and created some distorted box, that doesn't fit in with any of the other ships in eve. Or the way they ruined the paintjobs on many, if not most pirate faction ships. Or other iconic ships that got ruined like the vagabond.

Small touchups, sure, but their current trend of destroying the ships that we have grown to love for asymetrical cop-outs is saddening.

Just hurry up and make the ragnarok beautiful. And not a turd-textured pirate ship.

OK, first, breathe with me: [ whwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhh ]

Now.

If you're referring to the Blackbird/Falcon/Rook being off-center in the camera, the new design revealed a specific issue with our old algorithm for calculating bounding spheres. A fix is in work.

As promised with CCP Mankiller's dev blog from December, Team TriLambda is revisiting every ship to improve the look. This work is also ongoing.

The art team knows we have farther to go to nail the looks of many ships in the game, and there are strong voices speaking for the players on this. Fixes won't be immediate but they are coming.

A year later, I'm maybe OK with the look of the Golem. In comparison, the structure of the Raven under the wings is reminiscent of SoCT and the Gnosis.

What about stations and their scale? Suspension of disbelief is rather strong with them. Can we make that jump and have them span a grid?

waiiiit a second. Has there been a commitment to give distinct models to T2 ships, from their base hulls?

Hello Art Devs,

I like what you did to Scorpion hull, Maller hull, Apoc hull, Moa hull and the latest Exequror hull. For the Blackbird, in normal mode is ok looking but when in warp, please find a way to not animate the hull to have a pair of eye brows.

As for Chimera, the hull looks good, just the colour tone looks bland. My opinion is that a redesign is ok but please do not put eye brows on Chimera as well.

Thank you.

Upgrade the Phoenix please! Its not too pleasing to look at a giant gray box in space.

Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

I always thought the Phoenix looked formidable. Even handsome. If only it was something to be scared of.
