Mass test on Singularity on Thursday, 29th January, at 17:00 EVE-time

Hi!
We are planning a mass test on Singularity on Thursday, January 29th, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time).

What exactly is being tested?
  • Updated audio engine
  • Improved audio effects for turrets
  • Indirect lighting
  • Animations for ships with warp animations, ships with siege/bastion modules, Confessor
  • General stability and performance of client and server for Tiamat


How to connect to Singularity for this test:

Test steps:

  • Meet in FD-MLJ, at the gate to X-BV98
  • Jump to X-BV98
  • Warp to POS beacon
  • Shoot the control tower
  • Align to Poitot gate
  • Fleet 1: Jump to Poitot and setup gate camp
  • Fleet 2: Jump to Poitot + fight at the gate
  • Optional: NPCs?


What else should I know?
  • We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme
  • 2M Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for this mass test
  • Bring many different ships.

how does that date and time translate into Eastern Standard Time in the US? I would love to go but apparently I'm a total idiot and can't figure out the time conversion myself

You are welcome to gift them to me!!! IS there any way I could find out what time the mass test is in Eastern standard time. The date is throwing me off due to the time difference. would 1700 01/29/2015 be 1200 01/28/2015 in eastern standard time??

No. 1700 on the 29th of January in Iceland is 1200 (i.e. noon) on the 29th of January on the U.S. East Coast.

Many thanks - I will be there. I was just reading how to get into the test server. IF the gift skill points are given in the test server are they automatically available in Tranqulity?

If so, when they are used do they apply to the skills I currently have in queue?

No, you only get the extra skill points on Singularity. It doesn't provide an advantage on Tranquility.

consider adjusting the sp reward in future. 2mill is not eoungh to go for anything and updates are too often and mirrors too so there is no wayw e can have 5 masstests per mirror. 4m sp would be appreciated

EST is 6h behind UTC because Europe is more eastern than the US and we get the sun earlier than you, sorry :-)

So 1700 UTC is 1100 EST.

Sorry to have to point out your error, but this is INCORRECT. EST is 5 hours earlier than UTC and GMT, not 6, and the test is at 1200 EST.

The confusion is further confounded due to the fact that the USA (for the most part) observes Daylight Saving Time, which means that during the "Summer", the USA is one hour closer to UTC (which does not observe DST). So part of the year the Eastern USA is 5 hours behind UTC, and the rest of the year it is 4 hours behind UTC. And then throw in UK and EU Daylight Saving Time vagaries for extra LOL factor.

May I make a simple suggestion assuming you are running a version of Windows, do as I do, click the clock on the right of your task bar, click ‘Change Date and Time Settings’, click ‘Additional Clocks’ tab and add a new clock for the time zone you need.

Then you only have to hover over the clock to get the time both in your zone and the one you added, simple.

Exactly the same skills the Confessor requires except replace Amarr Starship Engineering 5 with Minmatar Starship Engineering 5.

EDIT: Also, the Svipul is inspectable in the market iirc on Singularity, so you can view the industry tab and blueprint requirements there as well.
