Daddy knows best ... perhaps but I do not think so in this instance. Being a "old skool dad" myself [52], if his only or primary reference to MMO/RPG is WoW .. then I can see his concerns.

However, now that you've revealed that he has WoW accounts [he's a gamer] ... use this as a point of bonding. Invite him into Eve under the Buddy program so that he can experience first hand that Eve =\= WoW. Not even in the same universe (pun intended) My son and I play Eve jointly .. I invited him to try it but didn't join myself until I saw his excitement and recognized benefits.

If then after he's experienced Eve for the trial period and had a open mind about it and STILL feels that its a detriment. then I rescind my statement and recommend that you yield to his wisdom and wishes.

He tried eve for a bit, was a miner in hi-sec and kept getting ganked and war-decd in his hulk lool Hes like whats the point I make all this isk and then just lose it all. I ended up staying with his account and mine. He now plays facebook games hes scared for life

It was English that you failed.. just an educated guess.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

You could, like, transfer all your characters on to another account, then just leave it to him to delete 'your account,' and simply just wait until you are certain you will never have this problem again.

LOL

Okay so we have established that you should not listen to your dad,
because he's a freaking carebear.

Delete the Eve client from your harddrive. (save logs, captures, overview settings, etc, to a seperate file before hand)
Get a job
Move out
Re-install client.
Problem solved

I'm a parent. I raised four - two boys. One rabid gamer. My take is, it's fair to have him uninstall the game for punitive or disciplinary purposes, but unfair to have him delete the toons.

The only exception I can think of to this is the "ill-gotten gains" clause; that being if he sneaked the credit card to pay for the game while he developed the characters, then I'd have a case they aren't exactly "his" to keep, i.e., stolen merchandise. In that case it'd be wrong to violate him for the theft, but let him keep the bounty from his crime...or booty. (But, I'd also be tempted to kick his booty for it, and not that booty.)

Had he installed the game and developed the toons with permission (sanction), but lost this privilege due to bad academic performance, poor domestic participation (isn't doing chores,) or criminal activity (sawing off the legs to his sister's desk chair for instance) then he'd own the toons himself, due to his own diligence and hard work, and I'd not have the right to destroy that effort. However, I would have the right to remove his right to use facilities to access that "stuff".

Okay. Facilities could include electricity which I pay for, internet service provider I pay for, computer payments of any sort I pay for (even if the computer was a gift from me). I'd even come down on calories spent to play the game from food which I BOUGHT.

There's your parental call.

(Disclaimer: Parents tend to make their own personal judgements in matters such as these, and all parents know for a stone cold fact they're correct regardless of the decision they've made up to and including offing your own offspring in a fit of anger.)

ADDENDUM: When you have kids of your own you'll agree. Though, you swear you'll never have kids 'cause you know what you're like as some parent's child - the law of karma being what it is.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

OP - since you're being deceitful (no judgment levied) just go all the way .. tell him you did and if challenged .. ask him to prove otherwise.

YOU have to log into your account .. and without entering the correct password - entry denied - and that is what happens when you biomass.

Now .. if he has a login .... plan fails and yer screwed.

But now the "gets real" question, what caused this agro from the master chief ?

mate like i said its a long story that can't be posted on these forums lol my dad isnt mad hes just trying to implement rules for my own good. But deleting eve chars is way too overboard. He said he will delete his wow chars if it makes me feel better..which is no where near the same as deleting eve chars

"Get into EVE and try to get your main to 60 M SP, then we will talk, dad" say to him. Lol
(I mean another one, not this one he had, as its already 60 M)
