This is my first attempt at running a public loan service, any helpful advice would be appreciated.

So, first, I get the 1 billion worth of ship (bought from market).
Then, second, I can use them as collateral to get a billion ISK from you?

And so you charge around 5% per month for the service which is around 50m ISK.

You cannot receive a 1b ISK loan with 1b ISK worth of collateral, the collateral must be worth atleast 10% (or at an agreed rate) more than the loan amount.

Query. As at the time of writing, Ishtars are 179m (highest Jita buy order price) to 183m (lowest Jita sell order price), with blocking buy orders at 177m. Other hubs are slightly higher.

For purposes of using them as collateral, how much would you value 20 Ishtars at, if they were all in a single trade hub?

I'm not currently in the market for a loan, but if you convince me that you are running a loan business, not an 'oh hai i r buying blueprints cheap by pretending to run a loans service' setup, I will definitely keep you in mind for future use, as I've generally paid higher rates than you are offering for my ad-hoc borrowing.
