Curious about FW

I've been playing Eve for a few years and always wanted to put an alt in a FW group. I think FW is probably one of the best fleshed out areas in Eve and it seems enjoyable. I'd make a fresh character and start from there. I have some questions though.

1. Which FW front is best for activity? Matar/Amarr seems somewhat more quiet than Gal/Cal. Is my impression wrong?

2. Can I easily bounce between allied factions until I get settled?

3. How much isk can you make with LP? I'd like to make enough to do dual training once in a while.

4. Could I get a list of say the Top 3 alliances of each Faction to look at? Not necessarily in terms of numbers or kills, but rather stability.

5. What's the current doctrine meta? I've heard people complain and say Minmatar ships are crap now. Is this true or just a reaction from the days they were "Winmatar?"

Thank you.

1. Gal/Cal
2. Yup
3. Depends on how much you want to grind. Making a million LP a month is cake if you have time, let alone run FW missions.
4. Stability!? Plenty of groups with 3 members have been in FW for a long time. Just do a standard search for the qualities you are looking for.

5) A: Fly what you can afford to lose a lot of. There's always a need for fast tackle. The Derptron is Dead, Long Live the Derptron.

Don't fly... really anything minmatar.

Much easier to fly anything else, really.

1. Gallente / Caldari - It is a meat grinder. Akidagi is always a good place to go for easy LP grinding.

2. Yes - Amar / Caldari will be easy to bounce between and Gallente / Min - However; too much standing increases / decreases can lock you out in the long run. If that happens joining the opposing faction is best done through corps. You could also be a pirate and kill everyone, even your own corp mates.

3. Enough that you can whelp Moroes and Archons

4. N/A

5. Have respect for yourself and do no fly Ishtars for PvP engagements.

5. They're not winmatar but they're not crap. Fly whatever you like. If you keep PVPing you'll eventually fly all races, picking the best tool for the job. Scythes are excellent fast & cheap shield logi, just to give you an uncommon example.

Make space glamorous! Is EVE dying or not? Ask the EVE-O Death-o-meter!

You can see the top 10 killing corps in each militia each month here (click on the calendar icon next to the date to see previous months and go back over the last year to see who are the fixtures):

Caldari
https://zkillboard.com/faction/500001/top/

Gallente
https://zkillboard.com/faction/500004/top/

However, this is a very crude metric for judging an alliance. You will certainly also want to find out which alliances are active in which timezones, which have good FCs, and which are nullsec alliances whose main activities are not in FW.
