Assisting drones

Hi guys,

I'm currently using 2 spider domi for missioning. I use a TP on the main and I put drones on assist on my alt. All drones are set on passive.

The problem is that my alt drones seems to attack random targets as soon as I don't use my TP on a target, like on aggressive mode. Which is kinda annoying for trigger missions.

Am I doing something wrong ?

I've noticed some bugs with assist as well. While running sites in wormholes in ishtars setting drones on assist on one person just doesn't seem to do anything, they don't attack at all.

Needs some more testing but I'm thinking something is broken with the assist mechanic.

When this happens to me it's usually because I forgot to activate an attack module on my primary ship.

assist doesn't seem to be all that useful. does indeed seem a little buggy. when my alt is in system I will undock my ship + a rattlesnake and usually fof missiles + drone assist on the rattler, it does seem to randomly shoot stuff at times which I don't really like, but at the same time as long as I'm shooting something with all my available dps I'm kinda okay with that.

Assist has been buggy for years, and I gave up with it.

As long as you don't mind micromanaging and you (preferably) have two screens, it's a lot more effective to set up an Attack shortcut, lock targets for both Domis and simply move your pointer between screens. I use mousewheel-click as the shortcut. Simples.

With practice, you'll be wasting frigate rats and cruisers with two separate sets of drones, then combining them on Elite BC/BS targets to minimise dps overkill. It does involve a fair amount of constant mouse movement and CTRL-clicking for new target locks.. but damn, once you've got the hang of it there is absolutely no faster way to empty a room.

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Setting them to "Guard" seems to be a better way to prevent them from shooting random targets, but it requires aggression from a target for them to actually shoot at something.

Drone assist requires an aggressive module to be activated for it to work (on each target) . I don't think it has ever work by just using the drone agro of the first ship.

This is why the OP has had issues with the TP, the assist part only works in tandem with the TP otherwise they just follow they own order.
