Cross post from me in another thread on the same subject:

Quote:
CCP should:

1. Get rid of PLEX completely.
2. Allow players to buy gametime and other services directly with Aurum, in different durations. 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, etc. With the more gametime you buy, the less Aurum it costs per day.
3. Allow Aurum to be traded on the market like PLEX are now.

Benefit being that instead of three 'currencies' being in circulation there will only be two. Sadly in the CSM minutes CCP mentioned that they had no intention of allowing Aurum to be traded for ISK. I don't understand why because it would work exactly the same as PLEX do right now, but without the hassle of juggling three currencies around.

Considering EVE has such a surprisingly strong and nice to use character creator I am disappointed that our characters, our actual avatars dont have any sort of meaningful interaction or gameplay.
As long as my character is basically just a picture, I cant really say that I have that much interest on customisation and virtual clobber related stuffs for my character.
Essentially. Since clothing, station interiors and ship interiors are cosmetic without being game breaking, they should allow players to create assets and upload them to CCP.
Then CCP can moderate, use what is good, touch up what is almost there or request change to follow the guidelines more.

OP - Nah. I just hate zeroes. If I had some Aura, that zero would be filled with "something". Then, I'd stop biting my nails.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

CCP has put serious consideration into removing “fleet warp”, but nothing had been decided.
Tacking this one in here, so I am not opening yet anothet thread.
I hope they keep it. I love seeing fleets in warp flying together. I think it is one of the best things in EVE for making videos. It just wouldn't be the same without it ... and I am suspending thoughs on mechanics. This is just a feels reaction.

Not at all.

I have a ton of Aurum from buying up all the 1000 AUR tokens when they were selling for next to nothing. Other than some skins and a few MCTs, it just sits there, not tempting me in the least to buy a shirt.

stupid question but i tryed to find info , and couldnt see it anywhere .... EVE sleeve tattoos . How come some of the collector ones got into NES , and some didnt ? any idea info or anything ?

I mean i got "lucky" i guess and have 2 of the drones ones , which go for 2.5bill ? instead of 100mill , considering if its worth selling them now and rebuy them when Store gets re-stocked ?

Already sold genolution 3/4 , when theyre cheap afraid of them getting reintroduced somewhere . So dont want to burn on this , tho also wasting 4 bill profit can be bad :|

Opportunities multiply as they are seized.

You can even put tons of commercials there just make it work better than stuff offered by CCP.

I start launcher for patching ... Nex requiring launcher?

Isk -> AUR -> gametime works for me. I never understood why we ended up with three currencies.

All CCP have to do is to convert unused PLEX into AUR tokens, and let AUR in wallets be converted to tokens as well for trade between players. And when you want to apply some game time just have a button where you select buy gametime and then your AUR is deducted. I don't see why the NES store has to be involved at all in that process.

This went well, when they wanted to force me into the CQ.

No one is forcing you to buy aurum. You can still buy PLEX in game for ISK.

Well the NeX store doesn't require the launcher per se, but it requires the SSO token. So use the exefile to start will yield you an error opening the store. Use the CCP launcher or your own that gets you a SSO token and you will be ok.

As for open-source my launcher I dunno yet, I've written it specifically for my own needs. So right now it would need to be customized a bit in order for it to work for others.

Including e-mails to CCP and a web page counter of how many different people use yours rather than CCP's ... for "feedback" purposes? Twisted

True but it is no difference buying PLEX from the account page as it is buying Aurum from the account page.

So no need for the NES unless the only way to convert AUR to game time is within that store. The best place would be to have the time buying done within the character sheet under the Pilot License tab.

I agree but I will bet you a Burst ship that they force you into the store for PLEX.

Think of it this way:

Welcome to the NES store, may I help you find something?
Yes, PLEX.
Great, right in this section.
Ok, I'll buy one.
Excellent. Would you like a skirt with that plex? We have a nice selection here...
No.
How about some shoes? Great variety here...
No.
How about a new hair style? We have a discount...
No, just the PLEX.
Very well. The total is 3000 Aurum.
Um, I have credit card.
Sorry, you must use your credit card to buy some Aurum first.
Ok.
Very well. We have the following packages: 250 Aurum, 1250 Aurum, 2000 Aurum, 4500 Aurum. You will need the 4500 Aurum package in order to have enough for the PLEX.
Ok, I guess.
Excellent. Here is your PLEX. Now what would you like to do with your remaining 1500 Aurum? May I suggest a skirt?

You can buy things from the NES, with Aurum. These things can be, if desired, sold on the ISK market (this includes PLEX).

CCP's income from PLEX (or the equivalent aurum) is going to drop significantly.

I'll believe that when it actually happens.

I'll take two of the 4500's, and then please exchange them for three plex.
Thanks.

The numbers in the example aren't perfect but the general thrust of the post is spot on. Probably the main driving force to get it into flexible numbers and AUR rather than straight ISK <--> Game Time <--- RL $

RL$ ---> AUR <---> ISK
More RL$ ---> AUR (probably)
ISK ---> AUR ---> Game Time ---> (more flexible and easier to manipulate).

It all depends how much CCP want to annoy the players, I hope they learned something during the Incarna days.
