Looking for info on compressed ore vs items for hauling minerals?

I used to buy stacks of items (like 425mm railguns) to haul minerals around.

I realize that reprocessing items has been changed, but is there any calculators around to show how much in minerals you can get from compressed ore vs reprocessing items etc?

Now i could be wrong. But from what I am aware, modules had their refinement rates nerfed. So you will never get your full minerals back. Where as compressed ore give you the full possible amount with skills and standings. Its also super tiny. Of course some might know better than me.

Don't use modules for compression. you'll lose 45% of your input.

Compressed ore manages similar (not quite as good) compression rates.

thanks Steve!

looking at your rates, the refine rate maxes out at 78% with perfect skills and standings of the total now? so you lose 22% of the minerals right?

The skills for setting, and the facility percentage are in there to take care of it.

Technically yes, however...

100% refine is not possible any longer
Ore contents were modified when the refining change hit so that the results from refining ore was roughly, more or less the same.

If you're hauling, compressed ore is waaaaay smaller than the minerals it refines to, hence fewer trips, lower fuel and fatigue if you're moving it in a jf.

Compressed ore is the way to go now. Also, iirc 100% refine b4 changes = like 73% now. Anything past that is more than minerals than b4 the changes.

Actually the compression rate is pretty close to the former mineral compression rate. About 1:20 with reprocessing skills at 5, using a POS and an implant. Even better if you have access to a station in null.

Reprocessing modules simply is not an option anymore.

72.358% is now equivalent to the old "perfect" 100% refine. Anything over that, and you are getting more minerals than previously possible.

Using better reprocessing facilities can significantly increase that yield (max: fully upgraded Minmatar outpost = 12.4% more than was previously possible).

See Reprocessing Post-Crius for links to breakdowns of skills and facilities.
